Twas the Night Before Christmas (A Pet Sitter’s Tale)
’Twas the night before Christmas, all peaceful and still,
But paws softly padded with their own little will.
The dogs were all dreaming—some snoring outright,
While cats ruled the shadows and owned the whole night.
Bailey and Gatsby were snug on the floor,
Aya kept watch while Bodie asked for more.
Poppie, Hank, and Finn curled in a heap,
With Xena and Noodles finally asleep.
Jasper and Jasmine shared one cozy bed,
Molly and Cooper dreamed bones instead.
Jeter, Phoebe, and Chase sighed in a line,
While Nikita and Patton decided it’s time.
The cats had opinions, as cats always do:
Lola, Ringo, Izzy, and Alex—the crew.
They perched and they prowled with soft midnight grace,
Leaving paw-print confetti all over the place.
And then, in the quiet, with hearts held so near,
Came thoughts of our angels who’re always right here:
✨Malibu✨ and ✨Zeus✨, ✨Misty✨ and ✨Martha✨ too,
✨George✨, ✨Nahm✨, and ✨Shadow✨—still watching us through.
With one last head count and a whisper goodnight,
All were safe, all were loved, till the morning light.
Merry Christmas to pets—both here and above,
Wrapped forever in care… and endless love. ❤️🌈🐾
Merry Christmas from Little River Pet Sitter
