Would you love a snuggly, beautiful brown/gray tabby who loves to purr when picked up? Then these kitties are for you! As it is in these kitties’ best interests to find their people as soon as possible, we are offering them to you for a free-will donation to Kindred Spirits Rescue. They are all well socialized and have excellent eating and litterbox habits!!! Toastie is a male and Tessa, Tanya, and Tootsie are all females; they are siblings. These "kids" are microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and ready to love you!!!

Happy Thursday from Frank! Short for Frankenstein. 😍 He's one of the sweetest kittens ever. He loves to hold his foster's finger while he nurses and enjoys snuggles once his tummy is full.

His sisters were named Wednesday and Morticia. Thanks to our followers for the name suggestions. They're all doing well and have begun the weaning process. 🧡🖤

One of our lovely supporters reached out to us about this cutie pie. Her momma sadly passed away, leaving her alone. We're not sure what happened, but she somehow sustained a serious injury to her face. We're calling her "Blueberry" because she's so darn sweet!

Thanks to the efforts of a wonderful and caring person, Living Waters Veterinary Clinic, and one of our excellent fosters, this little girl made it to safety! 😍

This is another case that we wouldn't have been able to take in without the support of all of you. We had the funds to cover the cost of her emergency care. We're so happy we could help - this is exactly the type of work we strive to do for cats in need.

Good morning from KSRs newest friends! ❤️

To anyone that's supported us... You helped these three make it to safety. They had been living outdoors and their mother went missing. They were completely alone for over 24 hours and were found trying to suckle on the ground and each other in a desperate attempt to survive. They were outside overnight in temperatures around 35 degrees. They were cold and malnourished by the time they arrived to us. We were very worried about their condition and immediately worked on stabilizing them. We're happy to report that they are now stable and getting stronger! We are optimistic about their futures.

Because of all of you, these three got a second chance. Not all kittens are this lucky. This is why we feel so strongly about spaying and neutering. Not only does it keep adult cats safer and healthier, it prevents this sort of suffering too. Only about 25% of kittens born to outdoor cats survive long enough to reach a year of age.

Thank you to all who played a part in the safety of these special kittens. Donated formula and supplies were used to get them back on track and we have a fantastic support system of veterinary staff to help us out in situations like this. The community that we've built has saved so many lives and reduced suffering locally. 💪

PS - these kiddos still need names. We're thinking about fall or Halloween themed names for them. The tortoiseshell is a girl, the dark orange is a boy, and the light orange is a girl! Feel free to suggest names in the comments ;)

Last evening during a pause in play time with Tootsie, Tessa, Toastie and Alby, Tanya asked her foster mom, “Why haven’t our people found us yet? All the other kitties with coats of ginger, black, or white have gone to their forever, loving homes; when will our people find us? We have beautiful coats of silver, gray, black, and some of us even have ginger highlights!”

Good morning and happy Monday from our two newest faces. 🥰

They definitely want something - pets and love. But never have to worry about being warm or having their tummies full again. Yay for them and for us. Thank you all for making this possible. ❤️

We owe a gigantic thank you to all of our supporters. After our last post, we received enough support to say "yes" to some new faces. We couldn't be happier. ❤️

These three kiddos are so new that they don't have names yet! All three were living 100% outdoors and didn't have any people to keep them safe. We received enough funding to get them the care they needed and to give them some much needed vaccines, deworming, and flea treatment (YUCK!).

Their tummies are full of nutritious food and they're safe and warm. We are so thankful. Thank you all. We aren't "out of the woods" so to speak but are finally able to take a deep breath.

This year has given us monumental challenges. We're entirely volunteer run, which means your donations go directly towards caring for animals. Any contribution is stretched and maximized for the benefit of our animals. Our volunteers spend a minimum of 6 hours every day caring for Kindred Spirits Rescue animals. We do so without pay and have sacrificed endless time, sweat, and tears to keep our animals safe and happy. That’s always a guarantee we give to any animal that joins Kindred Spirits Rescue; we promise safety, compassion, and love to each precious soul that finds their way to us.

Two of our most dedicated volunteers are experiencing difficult seasons of life currently. This means our volunteer hours have been reduced significantly. We were only able to hold one fundraising event this year; we cannot do adoption events at this time. We also are having to refer cats/kitties needing our help to other rescue organizations as we cannot afford to take any new animals in.

As life is taking us down paths we never imagined, our ability to help those cats and kitties that need our specialized services has been negatively impacted. We worry about the felines we haven’t been able to take in, and we are working hard to plan for KSR’s future.

This year, healthy kitties have remained in our care for so long that we had to make the tough decision to offer them free of charge to get them into loving homes and reduce their stress. Sometimes adopters will make a free-will donation to Kindred Spirits Rescue if they are able to. Keeping cats/kitties longer than usual and reduced or waived adoption fees have impacted our financial situation. We do not get any state, city or county financial support; the only way we have been able to continue has been because of your generous support of our mission both financially and emotionally.

We need help. We strongly dislike asking for help. We are almost embarrassed to share that this is our reality but we have always been and will continue to be a transparent rescue. We know that a lot of people are struggling too. We’ve explored many options to help us function and often stay awake at night wondering how we’ll go on. We are in dire need of financial support to get us through our next round of vet bills and food for the felines in our care.

We're not giving up and not going away but we are struggling. If you can't financially support us right now, we certainly understand. Could you please keep us in your thoughts or prayers as we navigate this uncertainty. We've had some amazing adoptions recently that have helped lift our spirits; all thanks to our supporters sharing our organization on social media.
