Face paint day for the sapphire fox! Here’s a helpful little tip for the taxidermists who follow my page! If you need a specific color but don’t have the right PanPastel on hand, you can use soft pastel sticks instead. Simply shave off a little of the pastel and mix the colors together until you achieve the custom shade you’re looking for. While I love PanPastel they are super pigmented and sometimes I need a softer color when I’m blending next to white fur it really tones down any harsh lines

🚨Few Things Need to Be Addressed. 🚨

The last few weeks have brought an overwhelming amount of negativity to my inbox, and I feel it’s time to address a few things. I’ve received hateful messages from animal activists, aggressive messages from people who refuse to accept my business policies, accusations of using AI, and even people questioning whether I’m a scammer. Quite honestly, it’s exhausting, and it’s not something I’m going to continue entertaining. So let me make a few things clear.

1. Hate and harassment will not be tolerated. You are welcome to have your own opinions, but hateful messages, personal attacks, harassment, and aggressive behavior will result in being blocked. You do not have to agree with me, but you do have to be respectful.

2. My business policies are not up for debate. I no longer accept personal skins for mounts I create and sell. I’ve explained my reasons, including the many variables involved in working with outside skins and how changing this policy has allowed me to focus on my own artistic vision and the quality of my work. You are welcome to disagree with my decision, but repeatedly arguing with me, demanding exceptions, or becoming aggressive will not change my policy. My business, my work, and my decisions are mine to make.

3. State laws and shipping restrictions are not negotiable. I will not sell or ship wolves, bears, or mountain lions to residents of states where the sale, possession, or shipment of those mounts is prohibited by applicable law. I take these restrictions seriously, and I will not risk my business to complete a sale. If I explain that a mount cannot legally be shipped to your state, that is the end of the discussion. Arguing, pressuring me to make an exception, or becoming hostile will not change the answer. Please respect that.

4. Accusations about my work will not be entertained. I put countless hours of hands-on work, experience, creativity, and attention to detail into my mounts. From my full armatures to my painting techniques and the eyes I design and create, there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into what I do. If you have a genuine question about my process, I’m happy to share what I choose to share. But baseless accusations, disrespectful comments, and arguments with people who have already made up their minds are not something I owe my time to.

5. Questioning my integrity without cause is unacceptable. I run a legitimate business and work directly with my clients throughout the mounting process. I take pride in my work, my client relationships, and the reputation I’ve built over the years. If my work isn’t for you, that’s perfectly fine. You don’t have to buy from me, follow my page, or agree with my artistic style. But questioning whether I’m a scammer or making accusations without cause is not acceptable.

Moving forward, I will be much quicker to block people who bring unnecessary negativity into my inbox or onto my page. I don’t owe anyone an argument, and I don’t have to repeatedly defend my business decisions to people who refuse to respect them. I’ve spent years building this business and developing my own artistic style. I want to spend my time creating, experimenting, improving my craft, and sharing my work with people who genuinely appreciate it—not constantly defending myself against hostility. To those of you who continue to support me, encourage my creativity, and appreciate the time and care that go into my work, thank you. 🩵 Your support means more than you know, and I refuse to let the negativity of a few take away from the enjoyment I get from doing what I love. My page is here to share my art, my process, and the animals I work with. That’s where I intend to keep my focus.

Respect is not optional, and access to me is not guaranteed. If you don’t like my work or my policies, you are absolutely free to move along. But if you choose to bring hate, harassment, aggression, or baseless accusations to my page or inbox, don’t be surprised when you find yourself blocked. My time, my business, and my peace of mind are worth protecting.

I almost forgot to share the finished pictures of this little guy! 🐻🤎🎃
October is always one of my busiest months, between my birthday, anniversary, and all the Halloween festivities my town puts on throughout the month. 👻 One of my favorite parts is getting to take my granddaughter to all the fun. I did manage to get in a few extra pictures that will be posted Halloween because he is so little had to get him in a costume 😂

BEHIND THE EYES: Creating Custom Eyes for My Soft Mounts 👁️
I receive a lot of questions about the eyes I use in my mounts, especially the custom eyes I design and make myself. Since I’m getting set up for my next project, a beautiful sapphire fox, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you a little of my process!
✨ Step 1: Designing the Eyes
After consulting with my client and narrowing down the desired color and style, I begin designing the eyes in Photoshop. This is where I can experiment with different colors and details until I achieve the look we’re after.
✨ Step 2: Printing the Design
Once I’m happy with the final design and color, I print the images using my Epson ET-8500 inkjet printer on glossy photo paper.
✨ Step 3: The Tricky Part!
This is where patience and a steady hand really come into play! I apply UV resin and carefully align the printed eyes with high-dome glass cabochons. Getting the pupils perfectly even is crucial, so I double-check the alignment before curing the resin under UV light.
I always make multiple sets. Sometimes the alignment just isn’t right, or an eye gets damaged during the process. I learned the hard way that having backups is a good idea after accidentally dropping and breaking one while working on a previous mount! 😅
✨ Step 4: Securing the Eyes
Once the eyes are cut out, I apply additional resin to the back of the glass cabochons and cure them again under UV light to help secure the design.

And that’s part of the process behind creating the eyes that bring my soft mounts to life! Every animal is different, and being able to customize the colors and style gives me another way to add my own artistic touch to each piece.
