I created this program because I am remarkably good at telling other people to give themselves grace and remarkably bad at doing it myself.

If you know me, you know my days are full. There are horses to care for, a barn to run, real estate work, family, and a to-do list that apparently knows how to reproduce when I’m not looking. And this year, underneath all of that, I’ve been learning how to live without my mom.

The strange thing about a hard year is that ordinary life keeps going. Horses still need dinner. Someone still needs an answer. You still have to remember why you walked into the tack room in the first place. (I would like to report that I do not always remember.)

But when I’m with a horse, I have to pay attention to what’s right in front of me. I notice when I’m rushing. I take a breath, soften my shoulders, and try again. For a little while, I can stop thinking three steps ahead.

That’s the heart of **Grace & Gratitude: Reset & Ride**. I wanted to make room for other people who are carrying a lot, too.

We’ll spend two Monday evenings grooming, leading, and working with the horses in the arena. The first week is **Lead with Purpose**. The second is **Listen and Respond**. Then, on Sunday, we’ll take that connection onto the trail for a peaceful, walk-only ride.

Five guests will ride before brunch, all ten of us will sit down and eat together, and the other five will ride afterward. I love that we’ll share the middle of the day as one group.

You don’t need horse experience. You don’t need to arrive feeling calm. You can come with a full head, a full heart, and absolutely no idea what you’re making for dinner. The horses are fine with all of that.

What a day for our Grace and Gratitude Riders! 💗🐴

To every athlete who rode, competed, and gave it their all: we are so proud of you. Watching your confidence and hard work shine yesterday was the best part of the day.

Thank you to our volunteers, coaches, families, friends, and everyone who helped behind the scenes. From preparing horses and equipment to offering a steady hand or a word of encouragement, you made this day possible.

A special thank you to Jan Marconi of Triple J. Jan, you trusted us to continue the work you began with so many of these athletes. We know how much care and time you have given them, and we are honored to carry that legacy forward.

Our hearts are full. Thank you for being part of this team and for making this Special Olympics day one we’ll remember. Enjoy the Ride with Grace & Gratitude. 💗

We’re at the Skowhegan Fairgrounds getting ready for tomorrow’s Special Olympics equestrian competition! 🐴💗

Our Grace and Gratitude Riders have worked so hard for this day, and we can’t wait to cheer them on. We’re proud of every athlete and grateful for the families, volunteers, coaches, and horses who helped them get here.

Join us for a relaxed, family-friendly Halloween celebration filled with horses, fall treats, creative activities, and trick-or-treating around the farm!

At 1:30 PM, cheer on our Pony Pals and watch Copper Creek coaches demonstrate groundwork, Liberty, and riding skills!

🎟️ $35 per participating child

🐴 PONY PALS IS BACK THIS FALL! 💕

Do you have a horse-loving kiddo who would spend every day at the barn if they could? Pony Pals is the perfect way for kids to learn, build confidence, and have fun with horses in a safe and supportive environment.

Each week, kids will get hands-on experience with:
• Grooming and caring for ponies
• Learning to tack and handle horses safely
• Fun barn games and activities
• Lead-line walks and mini riding lessons
• Building confidence, independence, and horsemanship skills
• And, of course, making some new two- and four-legged friends!

📅 Tuesdays, September 8 – October 27
⏰ 4:00–5:30 PM
🐴 Ages 5–10
💲 $55 per week or $400 for all 8 weeks
✨ All experience levels welcome!

Spaces are limited so that we can keep the program small, safe, and hands-on.
