The heart behind Farewell My Friend 🤍

As a veterinarian, Dr. Amy Ruksznis has spent years caring for pets and the people who love them. Throughout her career, she’s seen firsthand how meaningful the end-of-life experience can be, and how important it is for families to feel supported through it.

Farewell My Friend grew from her vision of creating something different. A place dedicated entirely to end-of-life care, where families could have the time, privacy, and comfort they deserve during one of the most difficult parts of loving a pet.

That vision continues to shape the care we provide today, from the first conversation with a family to the thoughtful details of each appointment.

Every goodbye appointment at Farewell My Friend is given a two-hour time block, not because your goodbye needs to take that long, but because we want the time to be there if you need it.

Arrive, settle in, spend time together, and take the moments that feel right before or after saying goodbye. When you’re ready to leave, you can.

With only one family in our space at a time, there’s no need to watch the clock or make room for whoever comes next.

Farewell My Friend has reopened, and we’ll be working through the calls and emails we received while we were away. If you left us a message, thank you for your patience! We’ll be in touch as soon as we’re able.

Our next available goodbye appointments are Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday September 24th. For families needing aftercare support, we have daily availability.

Farewell My Friend will be closed September 12th through September 20th. 🤍

During this time, our team will be fully away, and phone messages and emails will not be monitored.

We will reopen on Monday, September 21st and will begin returning calls and emails at that time. Our next available goodbye appointments are Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24th.

If you leave us a message while we are away, please include your first and last name, your pet’s name, and a brief description of how we can help, and we will respond as soon as we are able beginning September 21st.

If your pet needs care before we return, please contact your primary veterinarian or local emergency veterinary resources for assistance.
