Thank you Kari Reeg and Donna Freeman for letting Karsyn show some pretty nice horses. Its been a fun summer. We are looking forward to heading to Fort Worth this week.
Kari you summed it up quite nicely. If you know my family at all, you know that it wasnāt uncommon for us to show up at a horse show with 6ā10 horses and probably 15 exhibitors! We all showed ā my sister, my aunt and uncle, and most of my cousins, too. We went somewhere nearly every weekend from May through October, and honestly, those were some of the most fun times of my life. ā¤ļøš“
Then I got older, that pesky J.O.B. happened, I started raising a family of my own, and life just got busy. Somewhere along the way, family dynamics changed, and at times it felt like they had managed to pull us all in different directions.
But this year, we decided to get back to the FUN. ā¤ļø
My mom graciously offered her gorgeous mare, IEM Phenominal, to the family to show. Karsyn has been learning the ropes and getting LOTS of advice along the way. š Then we added our yearling gelding, Ripped and Chromed, to her itinerary.
To say it has been a learning experience for everyone might be an understatement! My mom and I (mainly my mom š) had apparently forgotten what it was like to help a 10-year-old get ready for the show pen. Letās just say there has been a LOT of teaching, learning, reminding, encouraging⦠and probably a little deep breathing. š¤£
But watching Karsyn experience this has made it all worth it. There is just something special about bringing the family back together, hauling horses, showing, laughing, and making memories.
We had a pretty successful Breeders Halter Futurity, bringing home around $5,200, so we are headed to Fort Worth for the Halter Million$! šš“
Wish us luck⦠and maybe say a little prayer that we all survive! šā¤ļø
Because apparently, after all these years, weāre back to doing what we love!
