The last 24 hours have not been the best day. We've had a lot of urgent care needed.

Little Mouse is 4 months old and was spayed yesterday, and unfortunately the cards weren't in her favor. She ended up with a high temp post surgery and also showing some signs of pneumonia. Doing all the things, was able to get her temp to drop by a degree by bedtime but it went back up overnight. Off to the vet we went this morning for bloodwork and xrays.

This little girl had crazy stuff show up on her xrays. She has a congenital condition called pectus excavatum - her sternum indents sharply to her organs, taking some of the space her heart and lungs, making it a little harder to breathe.

She's had antibiotics and continues to receive fluids and other care, and we are hoping she feels better and starts eating again very soon.

Multiple urgent kitties today lead to a lot of vet bills - we would appreciate all donations to help us cover Ace, Mouse, Ophelia, and Simba's care.

Ace joined us in March of 2024. He was one of the FIV boys that didn't get any adoption interest, but he was a great kitty .

So many kitties that you would never know had FIV....Ace was at first, until he wasn't. His immune system had a harder time, battling quite a few infections and his ailment continuing to get the upper hand over the last 8 months.

Today, Ace lost his fight, and he was only 7. He's at peace in the only way that could be given to him anymore. His sinuses and nasal cavity were beyond help. The best thing we could do was let him be free and gain his wings.

Rest in peace sweet boy. You mattered. 💔
