September is National Service Dog Month!

Behind every hardworking service dog is a LOT of training, patience, treats, and teamwork.

At Uplifting Paws, we get to watch these amazing dogs grow from goofy pups into highly skilled partners who can make a life-changing difference. 💜

Meet Rowan, who is one of our in-training service dogs who is extra goofy (as seen below 😅)
Here’s to the dogs who work hard, love harder, and deserve ALL the belly rubs! Especially Rowan, who DEMANDS all the belly rubs😆

Uplifting Paws is proud to be a positive reinforcement, force free and fear free dog training organization! Thanks to American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior - AVSAB for creating this new guide on how to find a trainer.

Did you know? There’s only 2 legal questions a business can ask a service dog handler about their dog. Watch and see a great example of it being done correctly! Thanks for sharing, !

Barney boy, spreading love and joy to the county! So proud of him. ❤️

Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day, and take it from me, work is great.
You get so many important responsibilities. Like napping. And getting pets. And napping. Also treats. And belly rubs. And did I mention napping?
It is a big job. But somebody has to do it.
Happy Take Your Dog to Work Day!
- Barney 🐾

P.S. Barney would love to meet your buddies! DM us a photo of your dog and we will post it in the comments.

🐾🎬 Fair warning: this animated short might make you smile... and maybe reach for a tissue if you're a sucker for a happy ending like us. 💛

Andy: A Dog's Tale follows the journey of a future service dog from puppyhood all the way to placement—and somehow manages to capture so much of what goes into creating a life-changing partnership in just a few minutes.

Puppy raisers. Trainers. Setbacks. Successes. Positive reinforcement. A whole team of people cheering a dog on every step of the way. 🐶✨

It's a sweet reminder that service dogs aren't just trained—they're supported by an entire community that believes in their potential.

A big thank you to Canine Companions for helping bring this story to life and sharing it with the world.

💛🐾 WOW. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. 🐾💛

Because of your generosity, Uplifting Paws raised just over $8,000 during Give to Lincoln Day! 🎉

You showed up. You shared. You gave. And together, we raised more than $8,000 for life-changing dogs.

Your support helps us continue:
🐶 Training service dogs for individuals with disabilities
💛 Preparing therapy dog teams to serve our community
🎓 Providing ethical, force-free, science-based training

Every dollar raised represents people who believe in the power of dogs to change lives. And thanks to you, we'll be able to help even more individuals, families, schools, and community members in the months ahead.

From the bottom of our hearts—and with plenty of tail wags—thank you for being part of our pack. 🐕✨

We couldn't do this without you.
