Welcome Dr. Miciunas to Cotner Pet Care!
Originally from Des Moines, Dr. Miciunas has called Nebraska home since 2011. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 2007 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.
Dr. Miciunas worked as a shelter veterinarian for 15 years. During that time, she helped care for hundreds of thousands of animals of all shapes, sizes, and species. She also has several years of experience doing emergency relief work and teaching a population medicine elective to veterinary students. Dr. Miciunas also volunteered a significant amount of time to the veterinary profession through her appointments with the Nebraska Board of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and International Council for Veterinary Assessment Board of Directors.
Dr. Miciunas enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, animal behavior, and exotic animal medicine. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Miciunas enjoys crocheting, hiking, gardening, and playing video games. She and her husband Corey are raising their son Liam alongside their own little menagerie, including a dog, four cats, three snakes, two sugar gliders, and a tarantula.
Dr. Miciunas officially joins the Cotner Pet Care team on October 26 and is excited to support all the pets (including the feathered, scaled, and aquatic members) in our community!
