Capital Humane Society The Capital Humane Society is a non-profit organization with a goal of uniting animals and families.

We offer adoptions, education and training to help foster a love of animals and a lifetime of companionship. In addition to serving the community, Capital Humane Society provides a variety of opportunities! The staff works diligently to reunite lost animals with pet owners. We also want to create a successful and long lasting relationship when it comes to adding a pet to your home. For your convenience, all dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets are given a health examination, spayed or neutered and given a series of vaccinations prior to entering the adoption program. An active volunteer program offers a variety of things that individuals can help with. Volunteers help with the socialization of animals, the Pet Assisted Therapy Program, as well as giving tours and presentations to school age children and civic groups.

🐾🍽️ Full bowls start with you! 🍽️🐾

Every pet in our care deserves a nutritious meal, every single day. With The Daily Bowl Fund, a $31 donation provides food for one cat and one dog for a FULL MONTH! 🐱🐶

Thanks to our partnership with Hill’s Pet Nutrition, we can purchase food at a significantly reduced cost, helping your donation go even further.

Help us keep those tails wagging and bowls full!

🐾🛍 Sherlock Bones would like to give A BIG THANK YOU to Cause for Paws Lincoln for their partnership this year! Their kindness helps us continue to be there for pets in need. Thank you, Cause for Paws! 🛍🐾

🥰 Sherlock Bones is a 3.5-year-old Pittie Mix ready to find his new home. He loves going on sniffy walks and exploring his environment! Fun fact about Sherlock: he has a ridiculously long tail with a little kink in the middle...it just gives him more personality. 🥰

😎 Pimento is a 2-year-old kitty searching for his new home! We don't know much about his past, but we are sure he will be a great companion for the right person. 😎

Pimento is FIV+, but don't let that diagnosis scare you! FIV+ cats can still live long, happy, healthy lives. Because he is FIV+, Pimento will have to be the only cat in the home and an indoor-only cat.
