Capital Humane Society The Capital Humane Society is a non-profit organization with a goal of uniting animals and families.

We offer adoptions, education and training to help foster a love of animals and a lifetime of companionship. In addition to serving the community, Capital Humane Society provides a variety of opportunities! The staff works diligently to reunite lost animals with pet owners. We also want to create a successful and long lasting relationship when it comes to adding a pet to your home. For your conven

ience, all dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets are given a health examination, spayed or neutered and given a series of vaccinations prior to entering the adoption program. An active volunteer program offers a variety of things that individuals can help with. Volunteers help with the socialization of animals, the Pet Assisted Therapy Program, as well as giving tours and presentations to school age children and civic groups.

💙💙 Adoption Update! 💙💙

My family adopted Rocky - who we’ve renamed Benny (he’s responding SO well to his new name!) So I just wanted to share an update with some pictures!

Benny is absolutely thriving out here on our acreage! He’s the most loving and gentle-spirited dog and the perfect addition to our family. We couldn’t imagine a life without him already! We’ve spent lots of days enjoying the sun together and running around outside with our three young kiddos. He’s the best protector and companion. It’s like we’ve added another baby to our mix, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🥰

Marnie is FIV+ and will have to be an indoor-only cat, and either the only feline in the home or live with other FIV cats. Don't let that scare you; FIV cats can still live a normal, happy life!
