This goes without saying that reg grooming is important. Not getting into how or why the dogs nails are like this. I don’t know the back story again as they are not my client.

But PLEASE keep your dog on a reg schedule and or WALK YOUR DOG!! Reg DAILY walking goes a LONG WAY!! And I am NOT talking about walking on the grass. Walk your dog on the concrete or asphalt! The rough service helps to wear down the nail and also helps to keep the quick shorter so when we as groomers or vet techs can get the nails as short as possible when a nail trim is needed.

Yes, it is getting warm outside so walking can be tricky due to the heat so either get up early and walk your dog or go late at night.

When you dog’s nails get so long that they start to curl or grow sideways that puts pressure on your dog’s feet, joints, back, hips etc. This can lead to other medical issues along the way. Especially if your dog is older.

If you have a puppy TRAIN YOUR PUPPY THAT NAIL TRIMS ARE A PART OF LIFE! If you don’t know how to do this then seek professional help ie a groomer, trainer, vet techs etc. Trust me we would much rather spend a few mins of our day telling you how to do this then have you bring your dog in like this!

If you want to see a groomer, trainer, vet tech or anyone who works with animals blood boil this is the fast way to do so! This is completely preventable! Even if your dog doesn’t like having their feet touched. You can take them to the vet get a sedative or again WALK YOUR DOG!!
