🐾🤍 WELCOME TO THE PRE-POWDERED SUGAR FACE CLUB! 🤍🐾

Somehow, someway, we've managed to collect FIVE middle-aged and mature dogs here at the shelter.

How? WHY? We have absolutely no explanation. Apparently, we've accidentally opened an exclusive social club for distinguished gentlemen and one fabulous lady. Membership is free, but we'd REALLY prefer they all cancel it. 😂

Meet our esteemed members:

🎰 JACKPOT – 5 years old | Neutered male Shepherd mix
🐾 ROSCOE – 8 years old | Neutered male Pitbull mix
🎩 SIR SILLYTON – 6 years old | Neutered male Poodle mix
🌮 MACHO NACHO – 6 years old | Neutered male Shepherd
🌹 ROSA – 8 years old | Spayed female Poodle mix

Now, before anybody starts shopping for orthopedic slippers and retirement packages, CALM DOWN. 🫠

Five and six years old is NOT ancient, and our 8-year-olds haven't exactly started collecting Social Security.

These five are dog-friendly, still have plenty of energy for adventures, and know how to appreciate a good couch. They're perfectly capable of enjoying an outing AND spending the afternoon supervising your questionable television choices.

It's called BALANCE. Look it up. 😂

They're established gentlemen (and one lovely lady!) who know what they like, have some manners, and have hopefully retired from at least SOME of those questionable puppy decisions. No promises, though. We know who we're dealing with. 👀

❤️ A little extra note about Jackpot: Our handsome 5-year-old is heartworm positive. Yes, he'll need additional veterinary care and treatment, but PLEASE don't let that scare you away! Heartworm disease is treatable, and with proper care, many dogs go on to live long, happy lives. A few unwanted worms shouldn't be the reason this wonderful boy gets overlooked!

A little gray around the muzzle doesn't mean they're ready to be put out to pasture. ❤️

These dogs aren't looking for a retirement community. They're looking for a FOREVER HOME, preferably one with comfortable furniture, a reliable snack provider, and humans who appreciate a dog with a little life experience.

And here's the part where we get serious for just a second.

They deserve someone who won't give up on them. Someone who understands that dogs aren't disposable when they get older or life gets inconvenient.

Frankly, we're a little offended that FIVE perfectly seasoned, slightly more experienced, fully assembled dogs are still sitting here waiting for someone to appreciate them.

THEY'RE NOT EXPIRED. THEY'RE AGED TO PERFECTION. 😂❤️

Some goodbyes are a little bittersweet, but they're also the ones we hope for every single day. 🥹❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Red Barn Rescue for stepping up and giving Humphrey the opportunity for a brighter future.

Every animal who comes through our doors matters to us, and knowing Humphrey has people in his corner who are willing to give him the love, patience, and care he deserves means more than we can put into words.

💔🐾 SIENNA IS STILL WAITING. AND TIME IS RUNNING OUT. 🐾💔

Somehow, this big, beautiful girl has spent 30 days in our shelter with little to no interest. And now, Sienna is on FINAL HOLD.

We're struggling to understand how a girl with this much love to give keeps getting overlooked. ❤️

💕 MEET SIENNA! 💕

Sienna is a big sweetheart who absolutely LOVES being with her people. She's not asking for much, just a family to love, a comfortable place to land, and preferably someone who appreciates a little extra dog to cuddle. 😂

🐾 Loves people and attention
🐶 Good with other dogs
💕 Prefers canine friends who respect her space
🐱 No cats, please!

Sienna gets along with other dogs, but she's not a fan of being jumped on or treated like playground equipment. She has boundaries, people. A lady is allowed to have standards! 😂

💔 We don't want Sienna's story to end here.

We want her biggest worry to be whether she's allowed on the couch, not whether she'll ever get to leave her kennel.

💗🐾 TWO HAVE RESCUE COMMITMENTS. ONE IS STILL WAITING. SIENNA, IT'S YOUR TURN, GIRL! 🐾💗

We have some GOOD news! Madea and Crash Bandicoot both have rescue commitments! 🎉❤️

That's two dogs with a way out of final hold, and we couldn't be more grateful!

But there's still one big girl waiting for someone to choose her.

💔🐾 THREE GREAT DOGS. THREE BIG PERSONALITIES. ONE DEADLINE WE WISH WE DIDN'T HAVE TO GIVE. 🐾💔

Madea, Sienna, and Crash Bandicoot have three things in common:

❤️ They're all great dogs who deserve loving homes.

🐱 They all have BIG feelings about cats. As in, no feline roommates, please. 😬

💔 They've all been at our shelter for 30 days with little to no interest.

And now we're making a post we absolutely hate making. One that feels like we're having to make every other week.

🚨 ALL THREE DOGS ARE OFFICIALLY ON FINAL HOLD UNTIL MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, AT 4 PM.

Now, meet the three faces behind this deadline.

💜 MADEA – THE QUEEN OF PEACE AND QUIET

Madea is a sweet senior lady who's had a hard life and is ready for something softer. She loves attention, gets along with other dogs, and simply asks that her personal space be respected. She's retired from putting up with foolishness, thank you very much. 😂

🤎 SIENNA – BIG GIRL, BIG HEART

Sienna is a big sweetheart who LOVES being with her people. She's good with other dogs but, like Madea, isn't interested in being jumped on like playground equipment. She just wants a family to love and a place to belong. ❤️

🧡 CRASH BANDICOOT – THE NAME SAYS IT ALL

Crash is young, rowdy, and apparently powered by a nuclear reactor. 😂 He's got energy to burn and some manners to learn, BUT he's willing to negotiate! His going rate for training sessions? A handful of tasty treats. He's a good boy who needs someone ready to channel all that enthusiasm.

We don't want to lose them. But we cannot save them alone.

We want Madea to finally experience a gentle life. We want Sienna to find her people. And we want Crash to find someone who loves his particular brand of chaos.

Last week, Triangle Beagle Rescue stepped up for a very special little old lady named Helga. 🥹❤️

Poor Helga had her entire world turned upside down and suddenly found herself in our care. Unfortunately, the shelter environment was simply too overwhelming for this senior sweetheart, and she completely shut down. 💔

And while we did everything we could to make her comfortable, sometimes a shelter just isn't the right place for a sensitive little soul.

That's where Triangle Beagle Rescue came in! ❤️

Thanks to their kindness, Helga now has a second chance in a quieter, safer environment where she can decompress, regain her confidence, and get back to enjoying life.

Thank you, Triangle Beagle Rescue, for seeing the sweet little lady behind all that uncertainty and giving her the chance to feel safe again. 🥹❤️

🚨🐾 LAST WEEK AT HCAS WAS... PRODUCTIVE. 🐾🚨

Apparently, seven animals checked the housing market, found better accommodations, and decided our services were no longer required. 😂

FOUR DOGS AND THREE CATS FOUND THEIR HOMES! 🎉❤️

🐶 Annie, Red Riding Hood, Georgia, and Elcair all traded kennel life for couches, snacks, adventures, and humans who will soon discover that personal space is merely a suggestion.

🐱 Carrie, Stormy, and Frankie Stein also packed their imaginary suitcases and left to begin their new careers as tiny, unemployed household supervisors.

And with names like Carrie and Frankie Stein, we're just hoping their new families are prepared for a little spooky nonsense. 😂👻

Seven animals. Seven happy endings. Seven fewer furry faces waiting for their turn. ❤️

We loved caring for them, but watching them walk out our doors with families of their own? That's the good stuff.

Happy Gotcha Day, Annie, Red Riding Hood, Georgia, Elcair, Carrie, Stormy, and Frankie Stein!

Go be loved. Be spoiled. Make questionable decisions and blame the furniture.

💜🐾 MADEA HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING AND SOCIAL MEDIEA 🐾💜

Now listen here, baby. Madea has been through some THINGS, and at this point in her life, she's looking for three things: peace, snacks, and somebody to love her. Preferably in that order. 😂

Meet Madea, a 7-year-old, spayed lady who knows what she wants, knows what she deserves, and isn't afraid to set a few boundaries along the way!

🐾 7 years old
💕 Spayed
🩺 Heartworm positive
🐶 Dog friendly, with good communication skills
🥰 Loves attention
🍪 Firm believer that treats are a love language
💅 Retired mama who has earned some peace and quiet!

Now, Ms. Madea has a very particular approach to socializing.

She prefers to sit pretty and let the people come to HER. As they should. 💅😂

Why chase attention when you're clearly important enough for it to come directly to you?

And when it comes to other dogs, Madea has some pretty solid communication skills! She's dog friendly and enjoys canine company, but she also appreciates having her boundaries respected.

If another dog gets a little too enthusiastic, Madea is comfortable giving an appropriate correction. Once they've gotten the message? She's relaxed, moved on, and back to business.

No grudges. No unnecessary drama. She said what she said, baby! 😂

Now, don't mistake her independent streak for a lack of affection. Madea LOVES attention, especially when treats are involved! ❤️

But here's where our hearts get a little heavy. 💔

Madea has lived a hard life. She's spent years surviving whatever life threw her way. Now she's 7 years old, heartworm positive, and still waiting for the kindness and comfort she deserves.

Her heartworm diagnosis means she'll need a family committed to her veterinary care, but there's so much more to this sweet girl than the hardships she's faced.

Madea has spent enough of her life taking care of everybody else. Now it's somebody's turn to take care of her. 🥹❤️

🐾 A few important rules:

🐕 All dogs MUST be on a leash.
🐈 All cats MUST be secured in a carrier. No free-roaming felines, please!
🐶 Aggressive or reactive dogs MUST be kept firmly under control at all times. We know not everyone is a social butterfly, but safety comes first for pets, owners, and staff!
🐾 Maximum of 10 animals per person at one time.
