Happy Gotcha Day to Penny and Luna! ❤️

These fluffy girls didn't stay with us long, and we're so excited that they've found a place to call home. Wishing them a lifetime of belly rubs, adventures, treats, and all the love they deserve.

Congratulations, Penny and Luna—have the best happily ever after! 🏡✨🐶💕

PS: Penny wasn't posted yesterday because she was still working through some fear and uncertainty. We wanted to give her the time and space she needed to feel safe.

Today, everything changed.

Sometimes all it takes is the right people at the perfect time. Penny blossomed right before our eyes, showing her sweet personality and winning over her new family.

And just like that, she went home.

Harnett County Animal Services has had a confirmed case of rabies on June 11, 2026. Field Service officers were notified of a fox, located on South 16th Street, Erwin, NC, that was exhibiting unnatural behavior. The fox was sent to NC Laboratory of Public Health. The official laboratory results indicated that the fox had rabies. Harnett County Animal Services stress the importance of having a valid rabies vaccine for all pets’ health and safety, as well as the health and safety of their owners and community. Harnett County Animal Shelter does offer a valid one year rabies vaccine for $8.00 per animal. Please do not approach any wildlife, especially if they appear to be sick or injured. Please contact Harnett County Field Services at (910) 893-0800 for help with wildlife.

Poppy is a 1-year-old Lab mix looking for her forever home. This sweet girl is a little nervous when meeting new people, but once she warms up, her gentle personality shines through. ❤️

🎉 Happy Gotcha Day to Kylo, Sashimi, and Whiskey! 🎉

Kylo found his forever family, Sashimi swam right into a new home, and Whiskey... well, Whiskey was here for about five minutes before someone said, "Yep, that's the one!" and snatched him up just as fast. 😆

We're so happy to see these pets living their best lives outside the shelter. Thank you to their adopters for giving them the loving homes they deserve. Here's to many years of adventures, treats, couch naps, and unconditional love. ❤️🐾

🚨 Last Dog in the Shelter! 🚨

Meet Kylo, our final canine resident waiting for a home! 🐾

Kylo is a 4-year-old neutered male Australian Shepherd mix who is smart, handsome, and ready to leave shelter life behind. He already knows several tricks and loves showing off just how clever he is. As an Aussie mix, he enjoys staying active and engaged, whether that's learning new things, playing, or spending time with his people.

After watching all of his shelter friends find homes, Kylo is the last dog still waiting for his turn. We'd love nothing more than to see him sleeping on a couch instead of in a kennel.

Titus has officially been rescued by Saving Grace!

This goofy, lovable Great Dane mix captured the hearts of many, and we're thrilled to see him heading into the next chapter of his journey. Titus will now have access to the continued care and recovery support he needs while surrounded by people dedicated to helping him succeed.
