🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: MEET CARMEN! 💗🐾

Today we’re shining the spotlight on another wonderful member of our Abbott Animal Hospital family, Carmen! 🐶🐱

Carmen is one of our amazing Veterinary Assistants, with approximately 4½ years of experience in veterinary medicine! 🩺❤️

When asked whether she’s a cat or dog person, Carmen says she’s a little bit of both! Although she has more cats than dogs, she’d happily have more puppies if she could! 🐕💕

And here’s a fun fact! If Carmen weren’t working in veterinary medicine, she might be helping her mom with her business or pursuing a career as a radiology technician! 📚

Carmen’s compassion and dedication to helping our furry patients make her such a valued part of our team!

Thank you, Carmen, for everything you do to help keep our patients happy, healthy, and loved! 🐾💗

Let’s give Carmen some love in the comments! 👏🥰

🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: MEET FELICIA! 💗🐾

Today we’re celebrating another wonderful member of our Abbott Animal Hospital family, our longest reining employee Felicia Sherman! 🐶🐱

Felicia is our amazing Kennel Manager & Veterinary Assistant, bringing 9 years of experience in veterinary medicine to our team! 🩺❤️

When it comes to choosing between cats and dogs, Felicia can’t pick just one — she’s a little bit of both! 🐾

Outside of the hospital, Felicia enjoys spending quality time with her three kids, hiking, and finding time to relax! 🌲☀️

From helping care for our hospitalized patients to making sure our furry guests are comfortable and loved, Felicia plays an important role in keeping our hospital running smoothly.

Thank you, Felicia, for your hard work, compassion, and everything you do for our patients and team! 💕

Let’s show Felicia some love in the comments! 👏🐾

Kaiser walked out of his spa day looking (and acting) like a whole new dog. 🐾

His pet parent said it best: "Truly a major difference in his appearance and even his attitude." That's the Abbott difference, patience, compassion, and a team that treats every pup like family, even the stubborn ones we love most.

We think Kaiser enjoyed himself more than he'll ever admit. 😄

🐾💙 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: MEET ALAN! 💙🐾

Today we’re showing some love to another amazing member of our Abbott Animal Hospital family, Alan Sanchez! 🐶🐱

Alan is one of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants, bringing 4 years of experience in veterinary medicine to our team — 2½ years in Mexico and 1½ years here with us! 🩺❤️

When asked if he’s a cat or dog person, Alan couldn’t choose just one! 🐾 He believes every animal has its own unique personality, and taking the time to understand them is one of the best ways to show them love. 🥹💕

And here’s a fun fact! 🦷 If Alan weren’t working in veterinary medicine, he’d probably be a dentist since he comes from a family of dentists!

Alan’s gentle approach, compassion, and dedication to understanding each patient make him such a valued part of our team. 💙

Thank you, Alan, for the care, patience, and heart you bring to Abbott Animal Hospital every day! 🐾

Help us show Alan some appreciation in the comments! 👏🥰

🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: MEET JAYME! 💗🐾

We’re kicking off Veterinary Technician Week by celebrating our amazing Lead Vet Tech, Jayme! 🩺🐶

With 13 years of experience in veterinary medicine, including 10 years working in equine management, training, rehabilitation, and wildlife, Jayme brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our team!

She’s a devoted dog lover (but has a soft spot for kitties, too! 🐱💕). And here’s a fun fact: If she weren’t working in veterinary medicine, she’d be pursuing photojournalism because she loves writing and capturing beautiful moments through photography! 📸

We’re so grateful for Jayme’s hard work, dedication, and everything she brings to Abbott Animal Hospital!

Help us show Jayme some love in the comments! 🥰👏

🐾🧡 HAPPY VET TECH WEEK! 🧡🐾

Behind every happy tail, every comforting cuddle, and every successful treatment is a veterinary technician wearing a hundred different hats! 🩺🐶🐱

They’re nurses, dental hygienists, anesthetists, lab technicians, educators, groomers, professional animal snugglers, and sometimes even a shoulder to cry on. ❤️

Veterinary medicine isn’t always easy, but our incredible team shows up every day with compassion, dedication, patience, and a whole lot of love for their patients.

This week, we’re celebrating the hardworking team at Abbott Animal Hospital who give their hearts to animals who can’t say thank you themselves. 🐾

Help us show our amazing team some love this week! Drop a 🧡 or a kind word in the comments!

🐱💊 FELINE FACT FRIDAY! 🐾

Does giving your cat medication feel like an Olympic sport? 🏅😹

You’re not alone! Giving a cat medication can be challenging, but did you know that a calmer, more positive experience can make a BIG difference?

🐾 Here are some Cat Friendly tips!

💗 Stay calm! Cats can pick up on your stress, so move slowly and confidently.

🐟 Ask about alternatives! Flavored medications, smaller pills, or flavored liquids may make things easier.

😻 Reward your kitty! Treats, affection, or playtime after medication can help create positive associations.

🚫 Don’t force it! Avoid chasing your cat, pulling them from hiding spots, or interrupting meals to give medication.

👩‍⚕️ Ask for help! Our team at Abbott Animal Hospital can demonstrate safe medication techniques and help you explore options that work for your feline friend!

At Abbott Animal Hospital, we understand that cats have unique needs. We’re proud to support a Cat Friendly approach that prioritizes their comfort and well-being. 💕

A little hunt. A little puzzle. A happier mealtime! 🐱🧩

Cats are natural hunters, and searching for food gives them an outlet for those instincts—even indoors! Snuffle mats, food puzzles, and treat-dispensing toys provide mental stimulation, encourage sniffing and pawing, and help keep curious cats occupied.

Start with an easy puzzle and a small amount of their usual food. Supervise play, gradually increase the challenge, and count treats toward their daily calories. 🐾

At Abbott Animal Hospital, we care about your cat’s physical AND emotional wellbeing. Ask us how to make enrichment part of their daily routine!

🐾 PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Lily! 💕

This beautiful girl is 18 years young and proving that senior kitties can still live their very best lives! 🐱✨

Lily is currently living with kidney failure, but thanks to the dedication of her wonderful owners and the ongoing care and guidance of Dr. Oh, her condition is being managed with one important goal in mind: keeping Lily comfortable, happy, and enjoying all the love she deserves. 💗

At Abbott Animal Hospital, senior pets hold an extra-special place in our hearts. Regular exams, bloodwork, monitoring, nutrition, and individualized treatment plans can make such a difference when managing chronic conditions as our pets age.

Growing older doesn’t mean we stop focusing on quality of life — sometimes it just means they need a little extra TLC. 🥹🐾

We’re so happy to have sweet Lily as our Pet of the Week! Give this gorgeous senior girl some love in the comments! 💕🐱
