Tropicats Cafe is more than a cafe on Kauai. We house and care for cats from Kauai Community Cat Project, help them find adopters, and offer guidance when locals discover stray cats. 🐾

Hurricane Lowell left us without power for almost a week, so we couldn’t open or receive business. Since then, local families have been rebuilding and most tourists have left the island, making recovery slow even though we avoided heavy physical damage.

We’re about a quarter of the way to our goal, and the support so far is helping us keep moving. Funds go first to food, litter, and daily supplies for the cats, then toward rent, electricity, and staffing.

Like many businesses on Kauai, we took quite the hit during Hurricane Lowell and are definitely struggling in the aftermath. However, we aren't ready to give up on Kauai's kitties and are now reaching out to YOU, our incredible, kitty-loving community. Aloha Kauai! While our beautiful island works on recovering from Hurricane Lowell, we here at Tropicats would like to offer a space of reprieve (and air conditioning!)
For a limited time we are offering 15% off of drinks, food, and cat room visits for locals with the presentation of a Hawaii state ID. Come on down and catch your breath in the cool comfort of our cozy cat room. Have a drink and get some cuddles all while having free access to wifi throughout the cafe space!
We understand that many homes and businesses are still out of power and internet, and as such we are also introducing discounted rates for longer visits. For a limited time, we will offer 2 hour visit periods for $40, and free color printing for documents up to 10 pages.
So if you have work that needs doing and require a calming, quiet space to do it, feel free to come on down and enjoy Tropicats Cafe.

Aloha incredible Kauai peeps! As we watch storm after storm grow closer, we are doing our part to prepare! As the next step, we are looking to build a close knit foster team to step up in the face of crisis and take a Tropicats kitty (or two) into their home on a short term basis! While our store location is fairly safe, we are all too familiar with the way a downed tree or debris can close down roads, and we feel the safest option would be for each of our cats to be in a home environment for the duration of the storm, ensuring they can be fed, loved, and tended to despite any conditions keeping us off the road!
