As you prepare for the Fourth of July, a little planning goes a long way toward keeping your pets calm through the fireworks. Here are six tips to help them stay safe:

🐾 Create a safe space. Set up a quiet, familiar area where your pet can retreat when the noise picks up.

🐾 Provide distractions. Treat-dispensing toys or puzzles can keep your pet occupied and focused on something other than the sound outside.

🐾 Stay calm and comforting. Pets take cues from us, so your steady presence can help lower their stress.

🐾 Tire them out before dusk. A good walk or play session earlier in the day helps burn off nervous energy before the fireworks begin.

🐾 Secure your home. Close windows and doors and check for any gaps where a startled pet might slip out.

🐾 Update ID tags and microchip info. If your pet does get loose, current details give you the best chance of a quick reunion.

Wishing you and your pets a safe and happy holiday weekend.🎆
