Look at that face 😍 Frankie’s excitement today has nothing to do with the vet itself (sorry doc!) and everything to do with what comes after.
He knows the routine: a little hard time at the clinic ➡️ a well-deserved pup cup stop on the way home 🐾🍦

We love you, Frankie — you make even vet days look like adventures 💛

(And yes, unlike the movie, our Bruno is a real star)

When I first met Bruno, he was a little cautious — checking me out, making sure I was safe. But just a couple minutes later, he showed his true self: incredibly sweet, eager for his walk, and gifting me with the cutest little auu that melted my heart 🐺

Like many pups, Bruno can sometimes get nervous on walks or become reactive on a leash. That’s completely normal — it doesn’t make him a “bad dog.” It simply means he needs a little extra patience, understanding, and consistency. ✨

Here are 5 science-based & compassionate tips for helping dogs like Bruno feel more confident:

1️⃣ Routine is everything 🕒 –
Predictability helps dogs feel safe.
Same walking times, same routes = lower stress

2️⃣ Distance is your best friend 🚶‍♀️↔️🐕 –
Giving space helps prevent that “reactivity switch” from flipping.

3️⃣ Body language over force 🐶 –
Watch for signs like lip licking, yawning, or stiff posture to step in before reactivity escalates

The past couple of weeks I’ve been extra busy helping out on a local family farm — and let me tell you, farm life is no joke! 💪
Not only is is about dogs, cats, and even birds, but I’m also deeply passionate about farm animals. A few years ago I had the amazing opportunity to spend a year working on a farm with over 100 animals, and I completely fell in love. 🐓🐎

In the meantime, I just want to thank everyone for your patience while I’ve been covered in hay and busy taking care of these beautiful souls.

Meet Waffles, my beautiful girl and overnight buddy for several days this summer. I’m so happy to have been chosen to spend time with her again—it’s always such a joy to see you again 🐶✨

We spent our days exploring, playing, and sticking to her routines to keep her feeling safe and loved while her family was away. Because that’s the magic of overnight care—it’s not just “watching a dog,” it’s building trust, sharing joy, and making sure your pup feels right at home.

According to veterinarians at the American Kennel Club, dogs naturally have certain bacteria and fungi on their skin. When they mix, they can create an aroma similar to cheesy chips or yeast. Dogs don’t sweat like we do — instead, they release moisture through their paw pads, nose, and panting. On warmer days, those “sweaty” paws can make that curious smell even stronger.

🚨 But here’s the important part: if your dog is licking their paws excessively, shows redness, hair loss between toes, or the smell gets intense, it’s time for a vet check-up to make sure everything’s okay.

This month, we’ve had the joy of not just walking this little guy, but also having him for overnight cuddles. Between rolling in the grass like a pro and posing next to flowers like a supermodel, he’s been living his best life.

Here are a few tail-wagging tips to protect your pup on days like today:

🐾 Keep walks short and sweet — early morning or evening is best
🐾 Skip intense exercise (no fetch marathons today!)
🐾 Wipe their paws, fur, and nose gently after outdoor time

Meet Nash — our 8-month-old gentle giant 🐶

He may still be a baby, but don’t let that fool you — this handsome Bernese Mountain Dog already has enough energy and strength to pull a sleigh team 💪

Over the past few days, we’ve had the joy of walking and staying overnight with this big baby, making sure he stayed active, stimulated, and consistent with his routines. Because with large breeds, consistency isn’t just helpful — it’s essential 🧠✨

A few quick tips for big pups like Nash:
🦴 Daily exercise helps channel all that youthful energy the right way.
🦴 Mental enrichment (puzzle toys, new smells, gentle training) is as important as physical movement.
🦴 Routine = security. Same time, same rhythm, same expectations — it helps them feel calm and safe while they grow into their paws.

Yes… yes, I know. We’re shamelessly Gilmore Girls obsessed — this season is our Super Bowl. 🍂📺

Summer break has been nonstop since June and we’re beyond grateful!!! Completely booked, tail-wagging busy, and loving every second. 🐶💦
Thats why we’ve been a little quiet on socials, but that’s about to change. Stay tuned for a flood of photos featuring all the new furry faces we’ve met lately — it’s going to be a cuteness overload! 📸
