The Fasig-Tipton NY Bred Yearling Sale begins today, with optimism continuing to build around the New York-bred program.

Colin Brennan of Colin Brennan Bloodstock is a strong supporter of the program and sees plenty of momentum in New York racing, with new opportunities including the opening of the new Belmont Park and the addition of the Trillium and Championship Series.

“We are big fans of the NY program... There is a lot going on in NY. We are optimistic that this sale will continue the strong trade that we have been experiencing recently.”

Best of luck to everyone at this year’s sale!

With the Keeneland September Sale just one month away, we want to know: What do you do to help your sale horses feel comfortable?

Every horse handles a new environment differently. For some, a sale is their first time off the farm, which means consignors have to be especially mindful of what each individual horse needs to stay settled and relaxed.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that can make a big difference.

Looking back at a special week for CBA Vice President Scott Mallory, who celebrated his first seven-figure sale at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale.
Congratulations, Scott, on an incredible accomplishment and a well-deserved milestone!

After two decades as a consignor, Scott Mallory sold his first seven-figure horse during Monday’s session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale - a big win for a smaller consignor. Mallory discussed the feeling of hitting that number, and what made this horse the one to do it.

Check out the story in the comments.

👉🏼 Prepping a horse for the sales is never one size fits all. While everyone has their own approach, there’s always value in listening to others, sharing ideas, and continuing to learn.

“It’s a trust factor.”

Tommy Eastham of Legacy Bloodstock says one of the biggest benefits of using a consignor is the relationships they’ve built over time. Trust, experience, and connections give buyers confidence and provide sellers with an advocate who understands the market and is working to position their horse for success.

As the industry continues to evolve, digital sales have become an important part of today’s marketplace👇🏼

Selling online offers flexibility for both buyers and sellers. Horses can remain at their home farm, racehorses can stay in training, and buyers from around the world have the opportunity to participate.

While the bidding takes place online, consignors continue to play an essential role behind the scenes, using their knowledge and industry connections to market horses, connect buyers and sellers, and facilitate successful sales.

The relationship doesn’t end when a horse leaves the sales ring.

Claiborne-bred Betweenhereandcool sold as a yearling at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale and went on to become a true war horse, making 83 starts during his racing career. This past month, Mary Ormsby, Equine Operations Manager at Claiborne Farm, rode the gelding in the Real Rider Cup, an event that supports Thoroughbred aftercare while celebrating the versatility of OTTBs.

Congratulations to Mary and Betweenhereandcool!
