The Exceller Fund

The Exceller Fund The focus of TEF's program is on "Racing Warriors", Thoroughbreds with upwards of 100 starts or more.

The Exceller Fund acquires Thoroughbred horses that might be at risk for slaughter and works to "provide a future beyond the finish line" once they have completed their racing careers. They are the backbone of the racing industry and have earned their retirement. Yet, they are often left with nowhere to go after having been passed among so many different people over the years and have limited adop

tion potential due to wear and tear from their long athletic careers. Hence, TEF is here to offer them a soft landing and lifetime retirement when necessary.

Happy Birthday to all of the Thoroughbreds out there! If this isn't the perfect horse cake, we don't know what is... 🐎πŸ₯•πŸŽ‰

Happy Birthday to all the magnificent racehorses in the Northern Hemisphere! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ Today, January 1st, marks your special day where we celebrate your speed, spirit, and the joy you bring to the tracks and our hearts. Here’s to another year of thrilling races and heartwarming victories! May your days be filled with health, happiness, and plenty of treats. Cheers to you, our four-legged champions! πŸ₯³πŸŒŸ

Did you know:
Horses in the Northern Hemisphere share a birthday on January 1st for simplicity in horse racing and breeding. This tradition, dating back to the 1830s, ensures all horses born in the same year are considered the same age for competition purposes, making age group races fair. It aligns with the breeding season where earlier births give foals more time to mature. This standardized birthday helps in managing and organizing races by providing a clear age benchmark for all horses, regardless of their actual birthdate, facilitating equitable competition and ease in planning breeding and racing schedules.

Happy New year to all our followers ❀️🐎πŸ₯‚

Wishing you all a magical, safe and nice holiday season! May it be all you need it to be this year.

Abe is worried as things just got real on the farm. His buddy Mfazi was officially diagnosed with EORTH, an extremely painful dental disease yesterday and requires surgery.

He is our third horse in the last few years to have this awful disease. It often appears in older horses, and many opt to not treat (or do not realize their horses even have it). The other two horses (22 and 25 at the time of surgery) are both thriving and living their best lives. It has been well worth the money to provide them with the quality of life they deserve.
We would really like to give this gift to our sweet 23yo Mfazi who is otherwise as healthy as can be (I was going to say healthy as a horse). The cost of this surgery is estimated to be $2,000 (in Oklahoma). Any help towards his or any of the other dental bills is GREATLY appreciated! Keeping those pearly whites healthy is SO incredibly important. THANK YOU!
