Extreme heat advisory! When it is this hot, even deep shade is often not enough to keep pets cool. Do what you need to do to keep your pets out of this heat.
Their walks may have to be much shorter and in the early morning and later evening. Please don't look at your phones when you walk them. Keep your eyes on them for signs of heat stress (slowing down, excessive panting, head drooping, drooling, weakness, and red mucus membranes.) Don't leave them outside, and, of course, not in a car. Watch out for hot pavement. Have plenty of water available for them.
If you suspect they are overheating, get them wet if you have water handy, and get them to the vet immediately. Stay safe everybody!
