Cats Unlimited Our primary mission is to offer a low cost Spay and Neuter Program to our citizen

Cats Unlimited is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the non-lethal control of cats in Rockbridge County and the Cities of Buena Vista and Lexington. Together we can provide our community with a non-lethal approach to resolving the overpopulation problem with cats and kittens that plague our local shelter and residents. We can educate the public about the importance of spaying a

nd neutering and how this will reduce the number of cats and kittens that will die in our local shelter every year. We can also make sure that every cat and kitten that we come in contact with is spayed or neutered so that as a group we never add to the overpopulation problem. We intend to continue this work until every cat and kitten we can help is found a home and cared for.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR SHELTER PETS 🚨

Last week the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a landmark resolution encouraging mayors across the country to adopt no-kill programs and policies in their communities! 👏

This means local leaders big or small are being called on to support proven lifesaving strategies that help more dogs and cats leave shelters alive. Because no-kill is not just a "goal". It's a commitment that happens when local leaders, shelters, rescue groups, and residents work together to save lives.

Today, more than 2 out of every 3 shelters in the U.S. are no-kill, and communities across the country continue to prove that saving pets is achievable.

This resolution sends a powerful message, that saving shelter pets is a priority worth fighting for. 🧡🐾

Male cats who are neutered are less likely to fight over territory and mates.

With less fighting comes fewer bite wounds, abscesses, and injuries, as well as a reduced risk of spreading diseases between cats. The result? Happier, healthier cats who can spend more time relaxing and less time recovering from battles.
