If you guys want to know how long I’ve been grooming-I officially got my certification from PetSmart 16 years ago! However, I worked there as a bather for 2 years prior to that. So 18 years total! Crazy! Added pic of me from 2009 😂😂

Saw this guideline and this is the ideal time frame for each breed. We’ve been seeing people go longer and longer between appointments which means slower weeks and more work for us when your dog comes in because of the condition of their coats and their behaviors tend to be off the longer they go without coming in. Keeping dogs on a schedule means cleaner dogs, more manageable coats (not matted), and better adjusted to their grooming routines. Also less wear and tear on our equipment and bodies! Please keep them on a decent schedule if you can!

Just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate everyone who came out this week with the road conditions still being awful! I love Lexington but the handling of bad weather and the roads definitely needs more attention. Small businesses suffer due to it and I’ve seen so many other small businesses post about loss of income in the past week. But I am so grateful for the community here for showing up for us! This is the hardest time of year for everyone and the economy and inflation mixed with a winter storm makes it that much worse! I feel very blessed to have you all as clients! Let’s hope we don’t get anymore ice for the rest of winter 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I wanted to share about what to do when your dog gets skunked since most people don’t know and we are heading into skunk mating season! The best thing to do is to NOT get them wet and bath them immediately after. You need to make this paste and put it on the affected areas and let it soak before bathing. If you get them wet before doing this, the oils from the skunk will set into the skin and it can take MONTHS to fully go away. After you do the paste and rinse it off, you can bath them as normal! Groomers truly love all dogs. I’ve been bit this week and had my expensive scissors kicked out of my hands twice 😂 and I still gave them kisses and forgave them 🥰 It doesn’t matter what behaviors, what issues, what they do while in my care, I love them through it and do my best to handle what they throw at me with empathy and care 💙 I love all your babies and appreciate you bringing them to me!
