WEATHER UPDATE: Wednesday, January 28th. Our office will be reopening today at 10AM. This slight delay is to allow our employees time to safely get to work and our drivers out on the roads. Please be mindful of the continued poor roadway conditions in the area - crews have been hard at work treating the roads but there is a solid layer of ice beneath the snow and it is proving difficult. We also know that our lot has a sloped driveway to enter it - PLEASE USE CAUTION and turn slowly. We recommend using the side entrance off of Mercer Ct. as it is less steep. If you are dropping off a pet, please park and come inside, and our team will assist you in removing the pet from your vehicle safely. If you have already dropped a pet off to us, and we have not yet called or texted you with an update, please contact us to check if your pet is ready for pickup before coming to our office. We appreciate your patience during this weather closure and assure you we will be working to get pets cared for and back to their families as promptly as possible.

WEATHER UPDATE: Tuesday January 27th.

Due to the unsafe conditions on the majority of the roads around Lexington and the extreme cold temperatures, we will remain closed today. (Plus, several of our crew are still digging out of their driveways!)

Please stay off the roads if you can to allow our road crews room to work, take breaks and limit your own outside activities to avoid injury, check on your pets and neighbors and we will keep you all updated as to when it will be safe for us to reopen.

WINTER WEATHER UPDATE - Sunday, January 25th.

Due to the poor road conditions and with temperatures expected to be dangerously cold tomorrow, our office will be CLOSED on Monday 1/26. We will do our best to evaluate the situation and reopen ASAP once it is safe to do so - our hope is that the city can work to clear the roadways over the next 24 hours and we can reopen on Tuesday. Please be sure to keep your pets inside, limit outdoor activities, take precautions against exposure and hypothermia, and check on your neighbors.

WINTER STORM WARNING - Inclement Weather Approaching!

OPERATING HOURS UPDATE: Due to the incoming winter storm and the state of emergency declared here Kentucky, we have decided that in an abundance of caution and for the safety of our staff & the families we serve, our office will be CLOSED on Saturday, January 24th.

Depending on how hard-hit the Bluegrass region is by this snowstorm, this closure may extend into next week until it is safe to travel. Please keep an eye on our page for updates, and we hope that wherever you & your pets are, you stay safe and warm during this weather event. Be sure to check on your friends & neighbors, plan ahead for extended power outages, stock up on any last-minute supplies ASAP (food, water, medications - this includes pet items/prescriptions) and be kind to those working in busy stores and vet offices.

PS: Winston & Vladimir want to add that cat treats are an essential emergency preparedness item, and to make sure you have plenty of those on hand for your own kitties - they do here at BGPC!
