So…what exactly DOES a veterinary rehabilitation nurse do? 🤔🐾

The short answer: A LOT.

Our nurses are an essential part of every patient’s rehabilitation journey. Throughout the day, you might find them guiding therapeutic exercises, assisting patients in the underwater treadmill, performing laser treatments, monitoring gait and comfort, documenting progress, communicating with pet parents, and helping carry out each patient’s individualized treatment plan.

They’re constantly watching for the little things, too: the extra step a patient takes, a subtle change in posture, signs of fatigue, or that moment when an exercise that was difficult a few weeks ago suddenly becomes easy.

And, of course, no rehab session would be complete without encouragement, belly rubs, and a strategically timed snack or two!

Veterinary rehabilitation takes a team, and we’re incredibly thankful for the technicians who help our patients become stronger, more comfortable, and more confident every day. 🩵

It’s officially Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾🩵

Before we spend this week celebrating our own incredible team, we want to start by recognizing all of the amazing veterinary technicians at the clinics we have the privilege of working alongside.

To the techs at our referring primary care practices, specialty hospitals, emergency clinics, and other veterinary teams: thank you for everything you do for your patients and their families. From answering our calls and helping coordinate records and referrals, to caring for these pets long before they walk through our doors (and continuing to care for them after!), you are such an important part of their healthcare team.

We know just how much knowledge, patience, compassion, and hard work goes into being a veterinary technician, and we are so grateful to work alongside so many wonderful people in our veterinary community.

To ALL of the veterinary technicians out there: thank you for everything you do.

It was a GOLDEN day for treadmill yesterday. 💛⭐️

We had FOUR Golden Retrievers come see us for their underwater treadmill strengthening and conditioning. We had so much fun with Eli, Torch, Shelby, and Pete splashing around with us yesterday!

It’s not every day we get a Golden Retriever takeover, but we’re not complaining! They sure did brighten our day! 💕

This sweet girl has so much to celebrate today! Mattie has been such a fighter this year, and we’re so happy to see her continuing to feel good and enjoy all the things she loves. Thirteen looks pretty fabulous on you, Mattie! We hope your birthday is absolutely wonderful and we’re glad we could pamper you with an HBOT treatment today!

Remy and Enid are showing off their skills! From balancing on the peanut to rocking the BOSU, our patients prove that physical therapy can be both challenging and fun!

Exercises like these can help work on balance, coordination, body awareness, core strength, and confidence! And they can do it all while earning plenty of treats and praise along the way. We’re pretty sure they deserve a 10/10 for effort and an 11/10 for cuteness! 🩵

Torch is enjoying a relaxing session in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber (and clearly making herself right at home)! Whether we’re working on mobility, comfort, healing, or overall wellness, sometimes the best part of rehab is getting to settle in and relax.
