The Shelter Snuggles Club from Geiger Elementary Scool knows how to spread cheer!

During their recent visit, this incredible group of students in grades 3–6 donated an amazing 82 handmade fleece blankets - yes, 82! Each one was thoughtfully crafted with care, creating cozy spots for our animals to rest, relax, and feel safe.

We are so grateful for the time, creativity, and compassion these young animal lovers poured into every blanket. Your kindness is making a real difference for the pets in our care, and we could not appreciate it more.

It’s not just cats and dogs here at the GAHS! 🐀

Hail may be small, but this adorable little rat has plenty of personality packed into his whiskers. Curious, clever, and always ready to investigate, he enjoys exploring his surroundings and keeping an eye on everything happening around him. Hail may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and inquisitive nature begins to shine. Whether he's sniffing out treats, climbing to the highest perch, or checking out a new toy, Hail approaches life with quiet curiosity and plenty of determination.

A big fan of snacks, Hail enjoys a variety of enrichment and having lots of things to do throughout his day. He'll thrive in a spacious enclosure filled with hammocks, tunnels, climbing opportunities, soft beds, and plenty of toys to keep his busy mind occupied. Foraging activities, cozy hideouts, and time spent exploring outside his habitat are some of his favorite ways to stay entertained.

If you're looking for a small companion with a big personality and endless curiosity, Hail is ready to roll right into your heart and bring a little storm of fun into your home.

Meet Tonya, one of our quietly wonderful cats who is ready to find her perfect match!

This sweet, gentle girl believes life is best enjoyed at a slower pace. Tonya isn’t one for chaos or commotion - she much prefers peaceful days spent beside her favorite person, soaking up affection and making sure treat time happens right on schedule. Whether she’s curled up on the couch, tucked into a cozy bed, or perched up high watching the world go by, Tonya has truly mastered the art of companionship.

Tonya is looking for a calm, quiet home where she can be the center of someone’s world. Soft blankets, comfy beds, and sunny perches are high on her wish list - along with plenty of love, treats, and wet food, of course. As for other animals, Tonya is still figuring things out. Dogs are a bit puzzling, and for now she politely prefers to be your one and only feline friend.

If your idea of the perfect companion is a low-key, loving presence who will happily share in peaceful afternoons and cozy evenings, Tonya is ready to take her place by your side.

This XL heartthrob is serving up everything you could want in a best friend: a giant blocky head, an easygoing personality, and more love than he knows what to do with!

Diesel has been through some unexpected life changes, but you’d never know it. He’s stayed sweet, friendly, and ready to give his whole heart to the next family who walks through the door.

He’s met just about everyone - dogs, cats, even chickens - and has done well. He’s also lived with kids, but like many gentle giants, Diesel sometimes forgets just how big he is, so you can expect the occasional enthusiastic bump from this oversized lovebug.

What he’s really looking for? A home with room for him to stretch out, people to adore, and a couch big enough to share. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who doubles as a weighted blanket with a personality, Diesel is your guy.

We’re open until 4 PM today, and Diesel is ready to meet you. Come spend some time with him - you might just leave with your new best friend.
