These two best friends are on the search for a home together and trust us, they’re the total package! Sassy and Tobie are a sweet, snuggly bonded pair who are happiest when they’re side by side, lounging the day away and soaking up affection from their favorite humans.

They’re big fans of calm, cozy spaces and people who understand that sometimes the best kind of love is just quietly being together. While they’re happy to make human friends, they’ve made it clear they prefer each other over other cats - and as for dogs? The jury’s still out.

Sassy does have hyperthyroidism and will need daily medication and ongoing vet care, but he takes it like a champ. Tobie, his devoted sidekick, has no medical concerns and is always nearby - likely supervising from the comfiest spot in the room.

Because of space limitations here at the shelter, they’re currently housed separately - but don’t worry, they still get plenty of time together for cuddles, strolls, and quality best-friend time. Their bond is strong, and they’re ready to bring that same love into a home of their own.

We are now accepting nominations for our 2026 Future Hero, who will be recognized at the Golden Paw Awards & Benefit on Thursday, September 24, at the Poland Spring Inn.

To nominate a deserving young person in your life, please email [email protected] with the following:

• Child’s name and age
• Your name
• Your relationship to the nominee
• A brief statement explaining why you are nominating them

Nominations will be accepted for one week, closing on June 7, 2026. Submissions will be reviewed and narrowed down to a small group of finalists. Their inspiring stories will then be shared for online voting.

We are excited to announce that we will have a Baker’s Dozen of kittens ready to head off to new homes tomorrow at the Kitten Shower from 11am - 3pm!

We will be chatting with community members about our exciting partnership with Kitten College, recruting new fosters raising funds to support the foster program and collecting vital donations to support us through the active summer months.

These cuties will be adoption floor when we open tomorrow at 11am! They are guaranteed to bring a whole lot of love and shenanigans when they head to their new homes!

They are all “Gotcha Day” ready! Each kitten is:
✅ Spayed/Neutered
✅ Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines
✅ Microchipped
✅ Sent with a to-go bag of food to get you started
✅ Provided with a list of local vets offering a FREE wellness visit to establish care

Your newest family member could be waiting for you! We’ll start visits and adoptions when we open at 11am. Potential adopters will be assisted in order of arrival, and submitting your adoption survey online will not hold a kitten for you. Regular adoption fee of $240 applies.
