Please visit our website for more information. Cat cafes offer customers the opportunity to interact and relax with adoptable cats in an atmosphere similar to a typical living room. Patrons have access to comfortable seating; Wi-Fi; and can study, read, or catch up with friends while visiting with the cats. Although we do not have food, you are welcome to purchase food at other downtown establishments or bring your own. All proceeds from The Scratching Post will help fund Cherished Cats Rescue Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting feline rescue in central Pennsylvania.

We welcomed over 40 Bucknell students to The Scratching Post this weekend for a special university-sponsored evening painting pet rocks. The students, cats and volunteers all had a great time!

One talented student especially warmed our hearts by painting portraits of two of our adoptable kitties on rocks, then asking us to give them to the cats’ future adopters. These are the moments we cherish.

Many thanks to Bucknell University and its Campus Activities & Programs (CPAC) for sponsoring the event.

We have one more Pet Rocks & Purrs Art Experience planned for the general public this Saturday, Oct. 3, with tickets still available! Find details about this and our other special events at www.lewisburgscratchingpost.org.

Adoption 1080 - Boo
our handsome little Boo hit the jackpot when return adopter, Alyssa from Shrewsbury, chose him to join her family! Alyssa adopted another tuxedo kitten named Cooper just a few months ago who came from the same foster home as Boo. She figured that tuxedo Cooper was super cool so Boo had to be too and they would be best friends! We agreed and we are here for it! Welcome home Boo! Take good care of Cooper for us!

Our latest raffle is for a $500 gift card for gas. Your choice of Wawa, Sheetz or Weis Markets all while supporting the kitties!

If you are interested in adopting a cat, please complete an application, and we will be in touch, usually within a few days. If necessary, arrangements to meet a cat outside of the hours listed will be made for approved adopters.

Our hearts are with everyone celebrating the life of Dianne Powers today.

We were blessed to have her as a cafe volunteer and friend. Dianne was always willing to grab a shift or otherwise help out where she could, even learning how to use a humane trap to help cats in her neighborhood. It's clear that was far more than her approach to being a cafe volunteer, but how she lived her life. Her absence is felt at the cafe, and certainly in many other ways in our community.

May her dedication and kindness continue to serve as an inspiration. ❤️

Adoption 1079 - Leo
Tabbies don’t get much more loving than sweet Leo who couldn’t keep his eyes (or paws) off his new mama, Kalyn of Williamsport. Leo will join to feline siblings and will be the baby of the bunch! No doubt they will make him behave himself and share his mama. Welcome home Leo and happy tails!

We've got the rocks, the paint pens, plenty of cats and an art teacher! We’re all set for a Pet Rocks & Purrs Art Adventure on Oct. 3 at the cat cafe!

No experience needed! Ingrid Howard, who taught art for 36 years in the Shikellamy School District, is ready to lead the way with inspiration, tips and personal attention so you too can create a masterpiece.

Her students decorated rocks with images and positive messages as part of the global Kindness Rocks Project, then placed them around the community to spread kindness and put smiles on peoples’ faces. We received one recently, which was immediately commandeered by one of our tuxes.

Now it’s your turn to get creative and make your own take-home treasure. Grab a kid, a parent or a friend or two and join the fun! Everyone six and up is welcome!

Saturday, Oct. 3
Sessions at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm
$20 per person donation

Meet our residents- Mimi
She's every bit as adorable has her two brothers, Boo and Leo, with just a tad less of an absolutely unhinged energy level.

Mimi is on the petite side, with sleek black fur including the most perfect nose blotch. She enjoys the wand toy, but can be a bit over-shadowed by her brothers on that front. It can definitely be hard for her to get a fair turn with those two involved. She holds her own, though, and is most definitely still an active kitten.

Mimi very much enjoys being around people, and is going to do best in an active household that wants her around and involved in whatever they're up to. A furry friend or two she can engage with is likely also a good idea!

She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and tested FeLV/FIV negative. We're open 12-5 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 10-5 on Saturday and hope to see you soon! 😺

1076-1077 Sarah and Gumby
Michael and Jay from Williamsport adopted Sarah and Gumby together and that makes our hearts happy. Sarah is all ready looking down on her new roommates but we have no doubt she will be queen of the castle before too long. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to these two sweet babies! Happy tails to this now family of four!
