Today we had the privilege of visiting Camp Encourage in Montezuma, Ohio and sharing some of our animal ambassadors with an incredible group of kids.
One of the messages we talked about was that challenges don’t define your worth. JT, our red-tailed hawk, lost part of his wing when he was young and can never return to the wild. But that doesn’t make him any less important. He is cared for, loved, and has an important role helping others learn and grow.
The campers also met animals that look a little different from what people might expect—from our sand boa to our African millipede. Sometimes it’s easy to focus on what makes us different on the outside, but every animal has value, and every animal deserves kindness and respect.
The same is true for people.
No matter what challenges we face, what we’ve been through, or how different we may seem, we all have a heart on the inside, and we all matter.
