✨ Meet Dr. Mike Peters! ✨

If you’ve visited us over the last couple of years, chances are you’ve already had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Mike Peters. And if you have, you know exactly why we’re so excited to officially introduce him!

Dr. Peters completed his undergraduate studies at WVU before heading to Indiana to attend Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1978. His veterinary career began with horse-related work in the Chicago area before he eventually settled into his own mixed animal practice on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where he served animals and their families for more than 40 years.

After retiring four years ago, Dr. Peters and his wife relocated to the beautiful Lewisburg area, where they now enjoy life on their property near Renick. But retirement didn’t last forever! About two years ago, Dr. Peters decided he wasn’t quite ready to hang up his stethoscope and joined our team here at Seneca Trail Animal Hospital.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Peters enjoys woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

We absolutely adore Dr. Mike and are so thankful he’s chosen to spend part of his “un-retirement” with us! His calm demeanor, thoughtful and wise words, wealth of experience, and wonderful sense of humor make him such a special part of our team. ❤️

And… 👀 this introduction is the first of a few! We have some new faces we’ll be introducing you to soon, and we figured it was only fitting to start with someone we already know and love.

In dogs and cats, allergies typically show up through the skin instead of the nose. Symptoms are more likely to look like paw licking, scratching, ear infections, or irritated skin than sneezing or congestion.

Amazing work GHS! 👏

🐾 34 animals. One incredible team effort. 🐾

Just look at that board! ❤️ What a long day, but what an amazing day at Greenbrier Humane Society—34 cats and dogs altered, along with a hernia repair and dew claw removals!

This was truly a TEAM effort. From the animal care team to the staff preparing, assisting, recovering, cleaning, and caring for every animal, it takes all of us working together to make a day like this happen.

We are so proud of the entire GHS team! 👏🐶🐱

And while no individual recognition is needed, we are incredibly grateful for everyone who gave their time, talent, and heart to make today possible.

34 animals. One team. A whole lot of lifesaving. ❤️
