No power?
Still got leashes
Still got treats.
Still got dogs making terrible decisions.

WE RIDE AT DAWN.

FREE GROUP CLASS: GREENBRIER RIVER TRAIL-PACK WALK!

📍 Meeting Location: Harper Road entrance of the Greenbrier River Trail
📅 Date: 9/6/2026
⏰ Time: 11am

We’ll be doing a three-mile on-leash pack walk—1.5 miles up the trail and 1.5 miles back to the parking area.

After the walk, we’ll stop at the river to let the dogs swim and play **individually or in small, controlled groups.

This class is limited to eight dogs and owners, so RSVP early to reserve your spot! Comment below!

Open to anyone who has completed training and passed their temperament test.

He’s so little and cute.

People ask me all the time, “When is the best time to get my dog trained?”

I usually answer sarcastically:

“Before you even get them.” 😂

Apparently some people are actually listening.

I’ve worked hard for a long time to build a reputation where owners are now scheduling training before they even bring the puppy home. That means a lot to me.

Jake has a lot of work ahead of him.

But for now?

Potty training.
Socialization.
Being ridiculously cute.

And most importantly...

Surprising the kids with a puppy when they get off the bus this evening.

Boy what a pleasure it is to take a trained dog camping. I'm having a much different experience then the owners beside me.

Zero leash pulling, placeboard, and off leash control make taking your dog camping or anywhere in public so much more enjoyable.

Watching all these owners getting leash pulled, and chase there dogs around.

Haha. Freaking losers.

Imagine your dog’s brain as an electrical breaker box.

Some breakers can be flipped on and off pretty easily. Others come from the factory already wired a certain way because of genetics.

With sighthounds, prey drive is usually one of those breakers that came pre-installed and cranked to ON. See rabbit. Become missile. 😂

But here’s where the internet loses me:

“Whippets can’t recall.”
“Corgis can’t be trained.”
“Pit bulls are naturally mean and unreliable.”

That is Grade-A internet bu****it.

Genetics absolutely influence behavior. They can make certain behaviors easier or harder to train. But they do not mean we just throw our hands in the air and say, “Welp, breed standard says he’s an asshole.”

Dogs of every breed can develop an extremely reliable recall with the right training, reinforcement, accountability, and enough practice around the distractions that actually matter.

Skye is a Whippet mix.

Prey drive? Yep.
Sighthound genetics? Yep.
Recall anyway? Yep.

Maybe some of these dogs on the internet don’t suck because of their breed.

Maybe their training sucks because their trainer does. 😂

A lot of work goes into a Board & Train—especially with a young dog who came in extremely fearful of new people and unfamiliar dogs.

One of the biggest advantages of training here is the environment.

On any given day, I may have 5–10 dogs on the property. That means new smells, new dogs moving around, people coming and going, barking, kennels, distractions, and constantly changing situations.

At first, that can be a LOT for a fearful dog.

But over time, it just becomes Tuesday.

Ella has gotten experience being around new dogs, meeting new people, working through distractions, and learning that the world isn't nearly as scary as she originally thought.

And this girl has come a LONG way.

Ella is an absolutely wonderful young dog, and I'm genuinely excited to watch her grow up and see what she becomes.

Even cooler—she'll be attending local VFW meetings, bringing some happiness and companionship to veterans throughout our area.

Pretty awesome future for a dog who started out afraid of the world. 🇺🇸🐕

Some of y’all are running on outdated software and need to come get the latest update installed.

Then we’ve got our **LAST GROUP CLASS OF THE YEAR — OCTOBER 10TH.**

And I want to make this one a big one.

We’ll be collecting donations for the Humane Society, and I’m thinking about having the class catered by one of our own Trained Dogs Club members.

So let me know **NOW** if you’re available for either September 6th, October 10th, or both.

Group classes are **FREE for your dog’s lifetime once you complete training and join the Trained Dogs Club.**

Training doesn’t end when your program does.

Sometimes you just need to come back in, knock the rust off, socialize, train around distractions…

…and download the newest patch. 😂

**LOCAL DOG TRAINER AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION**

Adult working male. Mostly housebroken.

Good with dogs and cats. **Human-male selective.** Introductions with other males should be conducted slowly, preferably through a fence and with several responsible adults present.

Known behavioral concerns include:

Territorial behavior, food aggression, resource guarding, public arguing, and an inability to disengage once someone says something profoundly stupid about dog training.

Yesterday, he experienced a minor behavioral episode during a routine interaction and nearly unlocked the UFC pay-per-view package.

No confirmed bite history, but he has absolutely shown intent.

He is loyal, highly food-motivated, and responds well to firm boundaries, physical exercise, caffeine, and someone calmly saying:

**“Gaige. Leave it.”**

Would do best in a female-only home with acreage, limited visitors, and no men who describe themselves as “Alpha.”

Not safe around fragile egos.

Experienced handler required.

**Rehoming fee negotiable. Comes with his own e-collar.**
