We are incredibly proud of the people who bring our mission to life every single day. We are continuing to share a “Staff Bio” every Tuesday and Thursday until we’ve showcased all our amazing staff who are dedicated to treating your pups with the same love and respect they get at home every single day. (There are many behind the scenes you haven’t met!)

Our next staff showcase is Emma, one of our yard attendants. She has been with Camp Run-A-Mutt since July 2026. Her favorite part of Camp is getting to hang out with all the adorable pups and her awesome coworkers! A few of her favorite dogs at Camp are Walter (Black Lab), Turk (German Shepherd), and Zora (mixed breed). At home, she has a German shepherd, chihuahua, and a parrot. In her free time, she loves to cosplay and make art!

Like us, dogs are often creatures of habit. When routines shift and stimulation drops, the quiet around the house can be difficult for many dogs.

The good news is that daycare can help your pup keep a regular routine! With familiar faces, same friends, and same energy, the fun can continue, and the back to school season can be an easier transition. 🎒🐶

Starting this month, we will share a new “Staff Bio” every Tuesday and Thursday until we’ve showcased all our amazing staff who are dedicated to treating your pups with the same love and respect they get at home every single day. (There are many behind the scenes you haven’t met!)

We will be starting with Shanea, one of our assistant managers. She has been with Camp Run-A-Mutt since October of 2025. She started in the yards with all the dogs and then moved to front desk after a while. Her favorite part of working at Camp is creating relationships with all the clients and giving the doggies lots of cuddles and pets. Some of her favorite dogs at camp are Edison (Miniature Schnauzer), Gunner (Bernadoodle), Sophie (Shetland Sheepdog), and Maggie & Maple (Vizsla sisters). At home, Shanea has a 1 year old hamster named Basil 🌿 and a 5 month old Shetland sheepdog named Banjo 🪕. Shanea has attended college for automotive technology and loves working on cars on her time off. She also loves exploring new places, going hiking with her significant other, and going to the gym!

🌠CAMP RUN-A-MUTT FEATURES: Camper of the week 🌠

Everyone meet Monty! Monty is Cram’s beloved Hound mix who’s food pallet is as big as his love for the staff 🍗❤️ Monty has been coming to camp for almost a year now and has quickly wiggled his way up to the podium of everyone’s favorite. Monty loves to play with every dog and loves to make friends! His favorite activity is cuddling up to staff on play equipment and using them as pillows 💤

Happy National Dog Day! 🎉 And what better way to celebrate than with a dog fact?

Dogs are the only animals besides humans that actively seek eye contact with people to communicate. Wolves (even ones raised by humans) don’t do this.

So when your dog looks at you with those eyes, know they're connecting with you in a truly unique way.

Not only that, but the size of the dog can influence both the frequency and duration of their dreams.

Smaller dogs tend to dream more frequently, while larger dogs experience longer individual dream cycles.

This week’s : dogs can effectively “smell time.”

Because scents fade at a predictable rate, dogs can use their nose to detect what just happened, as well as roughly how long ago it happened. It’s one of the reasons scent-tracking dogs are so helpful.

Did you know a dog's noseprint is one of a kind, just like a human's fingerprint? No two are ever alike. Their own snoots could be used for identification.

Today is National Mutt Day! 🐾 We love dogs of all breeds, but we're happy to celebrate and give a shout-out to all the awesome mutts out there. We're so thankful for them! 🧡
