Sat. May 16 9am to noon: Grab your gloves and bring a rake or shovel if you’ve got one. We’ll supply buckets to pick up pine cones, branches and stones. We’ll also be filling holes with topsoil. Volunteers will receive a free signature Lewes Unleashed ball cap.

Great Marsh Park Circle from Park Road has not been plowed and is blocked by a pile of snow, you’ll have to trek through some deep stuff. However the walk to the park gate is cleared, the gate swings open freely, there are paths cleared to the big dog, small dog and side areas. Big dog gate opens freely. Several trees are down. Please be careful.

Activ Pest will be spraying the perimeter fence of the park for ticks from 9-11 this morning, Thursday. Oct. 2. Please stay out of the area until 1 hour after the spray is complete to allow the product to dry.

We are installing a new front gate starting Monday.

Dog park will stay open — enter via service gate only.

Starting this Monday, February 3, we are replacing our sometimes balky entrance gate with a high reliability locking mechanism to make the dog park more secure.

The front entrance will be closed for 4 days. To keep the dog park open and safe will take everyone’s cooperation with a few temporary rules:

1. Entry will be through the side service gate only from Monday, February 3 through Thursday, February 6. See map for entry location near porta-potty and large shed.

Where is the service gate? Where do I park?

After turning from New Road onto Park Road at the flagpole, turn right as usual onto the road that ends in the parking circle and look to your left: you’ll see the service path to the service gate (on map above). You can park on the service path (right side only, to allow cars to turn around and emergency vehicle access), or alongside the road, or as usual at the parking circle and walk your dog back to the service gate.

A Lewes Unleashed Board member will monitor the side gate during open hours next week to keep it latched, remind members of the temporary rules for safe entry and exit, and ensure that only our members and dogs enter the dog park.
