We’re excited to introduce Brittney and Josh McReavy, the team helping lead the Ameritano Horse Registry and promote this remarkable breed.
For Brittney, horses have been a lifelong passion. Growing up in Texas, she was riding, showing, and learning from horses from an early age. She competed through 4-H and AQHA and has trained many horses over the years, including working with and training mustangs.
Her passion for horsemanship eventually led her to focus more heavily on dressage, including the opportunity to train with a dressage coach in Canada. Over the years, she has continued developing an approach centered on creating willing, responsive, and versatile horses—while always putting good horsemanship first.
Josh is a Utah native who met Brittney while living in Texas. While Brittney’s background has largely revolved around horses, Josh’s has revolved around the outdoors, motorcycles, and building businesses. He has been involved in building and growing several companies throughout his career and today owns a mortgage company—which he likes to say exists primarily to support Brittney’s horse addiction… we mean passion. 😂
Today, Josh and Brittney live in the Uinta Mountains, where they are raising their six amazing kids and building Mission 6 Ranch, appropriately named for their six kids and their strong belief and love for Jesus Christ.
Their connection to the Ameritano is personal. Brittney owns a Lusitano from Jaz Ranch owned by Gail Zscheile and Brent Jensen who founded and developed the Ameritano breed and registry. Brittney was also able to purchase an Ameritano from TNT Ranch in Canada. Through these horses, the McReavys have developed an even greater appreciation for what makes the Ameritano so special: the athleticism, versatility, and work ethic of the Foundation Quarter Horse combined with the movement, intelligence, and presence of the Lusitano.
Brittney and Josh are excited for the opportunity to help the Ameritano Horse Registry grow while honoring the breeders and horsemen who laid its foundation.
Their goal is to bring together breeders, trainers, and enthusiasts, strengthen awareness of the Ameritano, and help introduce more people to a breed they believe has an incredibly bright future across multiple disciplines.
For the McReavys, this is about much more than maintaining a registry. It’s about building a community, honoring the foundation of the Ameritano, and helping this unique breed reach its full potential for generations to come.
We ask for your patience as we transition responsibilities and continue working behind the scenes to strengthen and grow the Ameritano Horse Registry.
