Fair prep has looked a little different for us this year. Even with the sale of the farm and life being full force we are still doing the things.

This is not the end of us, just a break in the program. All of our clients know and now it’s time to share with everyone else.

For the past 10 years Lakeside has called this place home. This barn is where we have got to make countless memories, create the most awesome barn family, and build new skills. I have watched riders take their first canter strides, take their first falls, conquer patterns and even handle their first horses here. Countless top ten, top 5 and Grand Champion teams in all walks of life have been made here. I have been so blessed to even spend the first couple years of my sons life here making memories in the barn. While this is not the end of Lakeside, it is the end of Lakeside here. Our farm is currently for sale (

As far as lessons and training goes, I am still offering lessons to students who have their own horses.

Jake is a barn favorite. He’s a dog in a horse body. He’s as sweet as they come. He’s lived a pretty easy working life, but does have some arthritis in both hocks. Ideal home would be for a walk/trot family. Jake has been shown by youth for high school equestrian team. Used for lessons here and there. He stands to be clipped and bathed. Throw him in cross ties for the farrier and he will stand all day. Loads and unloads like a dream. Jake will pasture with anyone as he generally runs low man in the herd. Gets fat on air. Doesn’t require shoes, any specialty maintenance, or special diet.

Jake currently has been sitting without regular work for almost a year, downfall for being the trainers horse I have hopped on ba****ck and played around.

Day 2 is in the books! Interesting day of judging but our teams laid down some fabulous rides and patterns regardless!

It’s that time of year! The 2024 Ingham County Youth Fair is underway. We are wishing our clients the best of luck!

Clients are pulling double duty on horses, showing in the all around and gymkhana classes.

Another Ingham County 4-H Horse Committee Twilight Show in the books. This series is fun to be able to take these horses out and see areas we need to focus on while not having the pressure of all the fancy show stuff.

Marv is proving over and over how great brained he is. I’d have 100 of him in my program! Tonight he showed one handed for the first time and did FABULOUS! Winning our pleasure and HMS class then finishing second in the ranch riding. Yup that’s right, this guy did ranch riding and had a blast! Got to have a little bit of fun while showing.

Kelsea Barcelow took the opportunity to take Blue out and about as part of fair prep and worked on Western together. These two get stronger every time they ride, and she’s figuring out this loping thing! 😂.

What else does one do beside go to a horse show on a Tuesday night! We had a great time at the Ingham County 4-H Horse Committee Twilight Show Series tonight!

Marv got off the trailer 20 minutes before his first class, no warm up, and went out w/t/c beautifully! I am very excited about the brain on this guy. He tied to the trailer like a champ.

Kelsea and Donnie got to experience their FIRST CANTER show together. If you would have asked me a year ago if this would be happening I probably would have said no. It’s been a road but it has happened!! They had a great couple classes locking in top 5 placings in those!
