From the mountains of Wyoming to the Mustang Finals in Indiana! 🐴❤️

We’re so excited to be cheering on Sarah and Marley at the 1st annual Mustang and Burro Finals at Hoosier Horse Park, hosted by the Mustang Heritage Foundation!

Sarah brought Marley home as an untouched 3-year-old wild mustang from Wyoming. Over the last few years, she has poured countless hours of patience, dedication, and hard work into earning Marley’s trust and building her confidence. The result is the incredibly versatile, well-rounded horse she is today!

This week, Sarah and Marley will showcase that journey as they compete in jumpers, dressage, and western trail!

A little change of scenery for Breckenridge Farms and a big opportunity to celebrate just how far this special pair has come. We couldn’t be more excited to be part of it!

This year has definitely had its fair share of ups and downs, challenges, and growing pains, but through it all, we couldn’t be more grateful to have such a hardworking and dedicated barn owner.

Anyone who has spent time in the equine industry knows that running a barn is far from easy. There are long days, unexpected challenges, tough decisions, and countless things that happen behind the scenes that often go unnoticed. It takes a special kind of person to take all of that on while continuing to put the horses and their well-being first.

We feel incredibly fortunate to call this farm home and even more privileged to share our space with Blue Dahlia Equine. Being surrounded by people who genuinely care about the horses, the facility, and the bigger picture is something we don’t take for granted. Getting to be a small part of an organization that gives horses a soft place to land makes it that much more meaningful.

We’re thankful for the hard work, the lessons learned, and the opportunity to continue growing alongside Blue Dahlia. We’re looking forward to seeing what the next year brings!

If you’ve ever owned, managed, worked at, or boarded at a barn, this blog is absolutely worth taking a few minutes to read. ❤️🐴

10 Lessons, hard truths, unexpected blessings, and everything this first year taught me. When I think back on my first year of owning a farm and running a nonprofit in the horse industry, I have to laugh. Not a laugh of pure joy. Not even the kind where tears roll down your face because som

Help us wish a very Happy Birthday to the woman behind Breckenridge Farms, Haley! 🎉🐴

36 today, riding for almost 30 years, and training professionally for almost 20 of them. At this point, it’s probably safe to say the horse phase isn’t going away. 😂

What started with a horse-crazy kid somehow turned into a career filled with countless lessons, a whole lot of horses, way too many early mornings, long horse show weekends, and more time at the barn than anywhere else.

Over the years, Haley has had the privilege of watching riders grow up, helping horses find their confidence, celebrating the really good days and working through plenty of the not-so-good ones. There have been some amazing horses along the way, some very memorable ones, and probably a few she should have politely declined to get on. 😂

Breckenridge has grown and changed a lot through the years, but the people and horses who have been part of it are what have made it so special.

So today is also a good excuse to say thank you. ❤️ To every rider, parent, client, friend and family member who has trusted Haley, supported Breckenridge, cheered her on, helped when things got crazy, or simply kept showing up — thank you. Whether you’ve been here since the early days or are newer to the Breckenridge family, you’ve been part of making this life and career possible.

And, of course, thank you to the horses — for the lessons, the wins, the humbling moments, and for making sure there is never any extra money or free time lying around. 😂🐴

Happy 36th Birthday, Haley! Here’s to another year of great horses, great people, horse shows, big goals, and continuing to do what she loves. ❤️🎂
