Happy Farm Animals

A big day of progress on the new barn. Posts and most of the load bearing pieces are in. Big thank you to Tom Parker for donating 9+ hours of time and talent on a Sunday.

Thanks to all of you who have donated to make this project a reality. We're going to do one more push to raise money for a roof, and maybe another next year to install electrical and water. But we've come a long ways and the next few weeks will show it .

Please keep this weather coming!

Progress on the new barn. Slow progress! Thanks to everyone who donated money. We've turned your kindness into lumber, nails, screws, trusses, etc.

This is a DIY project, so stay with us. And hope the weather holds for another 5 or 6 months.

The sky was an exceptional supervisor this afternoon! The turkeys were the inspectors, and the pigs were, well, the pigs.

Almost done with the uprights!

Rosa Bianca couldn't take being away from the action, so she broke out of the pasture and went on a rampage. If there were tents left standing after the storm, she did her best to destroy them. Once that was completed, she found Alex's cooler, flipped the lid off of it, drank the melted ice water, and then literally shot-gunned a b**r. Alex was a great sport and took his finisher photo with her.

🐷 WE HAVE TWO NAMELESS PIGLETS AND THAT IS A PROBLEM

Meet our newest rescues: a 5-week-old and a 3-week-old piglet, both of whom quite literally fell off livestock trucks in the last few weeks. The little one didn't land so lucky — he broke his jaw in the fall and is currently recovering with it wired shut. He's handling it like a champ (better than we would).

What they don't have yet is names. That's where you come in.

For $5, submit your best name idea for either piglet (or both — we're not the name police). We'll take our favorites and turn them into a shortlist, then open it up for a public vote to crown the winners.

Every dollar goes straight to their vet care and recovery here at The Good Earth Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Submit your name idea here: https://givebutter.com/piglet-name-contest-eb35ts

Tag someone who's way too invested in naming pigs. You know who you are. 🐖
