Trainers want you to succeed. They want you to get get help so you can help your dog. Do your homework, ask questions, ask for a demonstration, ask for options. I can not fix your problems, I can only offer education and I can’t do that unless you ask. I don’t know what you’re struggling with, I don’t know what you’re confused about. Placement Guy has been spending nearly every farmer’s market this season working on dog excitement, settling and polite greetings. He was my ambassador and got to let lots of people know his future job.

Me and placement Guy went to our local Culver’s and did some shopping at Walmart.

He was great and offered settles, ignored dropped fries, heeled etc. he’s turning into a great working dog.

Today we trial and errored some ideas and reintroducing button pressing for Void.

I did foundational work for Void with buttons, but she has a hard time targeting and generalizing so instead of spending potentially months extra working on it we worked on other stuff before she went home. Now that they’ve been matched together for over a year and void could care less about me her owner wanted to go back to it now that she is more experienced. So these videos were our start to void with buttons.

Everyone say bye Mia!

Mia went from being so reactive she couldn’t stand outside a business to heeling through Lowe’s and greeting a stranger.
We worked on some obedience skills and a lot of confidence building and reactivity modification.

Guy has made really quick progress recently!

Significantly better at settling in public and his dog excitement has been reduced to an occasional whine. Even handled a dog trying to get at him, maybe two feet away, well.

Mia and I went to Marshall’s

She’s too reactive to be doing businesses right now so we hung outside and did engagement games. While walking around she started her first heat. Female dogs go into heat for 2-4 weeks twice a year and only about a week of their heats are bleeding. So while I haven’t introduced her to my dogs yet, it definitely won’t be happening any time soon because both Guy and Fenrir are intact. It’s not hard to be responsible and keep unwanted litters from happening. Just crate and rotate and interrupt any unwanted attention.
Now she’s going home to enjoy air conditioning and a chew.
