Although we love to give in to those pleading eyes from our pets, overfeeding with improper amounts of food can cause an imbalanced diet with poor nutrition. 🍎 Excessive weight can lead to a number of health issues including stress to the joints, lack of energy, and an increase risk of diseases.

Speak with your veterinarian about food consumption and how to reduce the risk of pet obesity.

One of our wonderful clients created a very convenient carrying case for her chicken. 🐓 She was such a good model, she also let us dub her Dr. Chicken (complete with stethoscope). 🩺 We can’t get enough of seeing chickens at Mariposa!

Dr. Amanda Kinnon represented Mariposa at the K-State College of Veterinary Medicine Job Fair on Saturday, Sept. 26. 👩‍⚕️ 🐾 She had a great time meeting veterinary students at all stages of their training and talking about what makes practicing at Mariposa a little different.

We’re not JUST looking to fill a veterinarian position! 🐇 We’re looking for the right person to join our team: someone who values compassionate, individualized care, enjoys collaboration, and wants to practice medicine in a place that encourages curiosity and doing things a little differently.

Could “Dr. Your Last Name Here” be you? 🧐 🫵

We have a roaring rooster that’s ready to rock with a new flock! 🐓 His lovely owner is unable to keep him due to constraints from the city and has been given a week deadline.

This beloved rooster is used to living indoors. He is in excellent health and very gentle, truly one of the most remarkable roosters we’ve ever met!

The owner is looking for someone who can truly love him and give him a great home. 🥚 She's had him since he was 3 days old, and now he's a little over 5 years.

If you or someone you know is interested in taking in this fine fellow, please let us know as soon as possible or share this post!

The money tree in our clinic bloomed in mid-September! 🪴 The bloom lasted just about 24 hours. We learned what this means: "A flower can be interpreted as an especially favorable sign: abundance coming to fruition, flourishing after a long period of growth, or the beginning of a fortunate new phase."

We will take this as a good sign for the rest of 2026! 🪷
