With the cold hitting tonight, let talk shop.

So in the past two weeks people have told me they have noticed our horses getting fuzzy. This is the more course winter coat (hairs) growing in to replace the thinner summer ones.
Leo is a perfect indicator of when cold weather is coming.
Normally this temperature dropped wouldn't be an issue for us, we have thick healthy horses, but today it rained all day.
So what precautions did we us?
Leo gets a blanket - chicken approved of course.
The rest of the horses get a good brushing to keep thier hairs from being plastered to their body snd allowing them to rise and insulate them tonight. Much like Clemintine is doing with his feathers in the photo.
We already give daily electrolytes so we doubled that. Fresh clean water is avaliable. Extra hay. And I moved the extra hay inside so they will be encouraged to stand out of the wind.
Our horses are family members to us and without them Bar C Ranch simply would not exist. Praying the morning light finds them all happy, heathy and well and hydrated!

This weather continues to amaze me.

We have lots of openings next week for beach rides. Minimum of two riders (since fuel and parking are so high) so grab a friend and book a ride!! 150 / rider for 2 hrs.

Cowboy.
Folks are always asking me, "How does he get out" this is how.

And tonight we found out, he has taught Sassy how to do this and she breaks in and steals his food.

We have an opening for Hobcaw on Saturday. All day event. We leave the farm at 7 am return 7 pm.
Pack lots of drinks and lunch. Let me know if you are interested. Three hundred. Gorgeous and fun ride!
