NewMoon Shilohs, alongside SpiritWind Shiloh’s, is proud to announce the breeding between our lovely girl Portia and SpiritWind’s fabulous boy Zacar has taken place! If all goes to plan we will be expecting puppies to arrive shortly before Halloween! 🎃
Portia is from our Bella/$teele 23’ litter, and is our 3rd generation home raised female making her all the more special to us. Portia is a spicy girl who loves to play ball and is very engaged with training and taking on new tasks. She is highly athletic and the fastest of our bunch here! She is however well balanced, with the ability to step away from the action and snooze on the couch or just lunge around the house whenever needed. She’s been a wonderful puppy nanny and loves to watch our litters grow, and engage with them as they get more active. Portia is a Breed Champion for ISSDC, TSSR, and ICKC. She was also the TSSR’s Puppy Of The Year scoring over 20+ points in the 2023 show year (which is a very impressive number…). She has powerful, balanced movement, a wide chest, and a very serious expression that doesn’t necessarily match her personality. This is her first litter and we can’t wait to see what she produces!
Zacar is a gentleman through and through. His sweet nature and demeanor has always drawn me to him, even as a puppy long ago. Along with his lovely head, kind expression, wonderful bone and excellent pigment. He harbors a plethora of awards and accolades both inside the show ring and out. Additionally he is an active therapy dog, further proving his solid temperament. I have always admired what Zacar has produced in his puppies and I feel his temperament, bone, chest, pigment and head will all prove valuable to Portia and their litter together!
We are expecting well pigmented (sable and dual) puppies with stable, level headed temperaments (soft-medium) and good presence/movement. These dogs will make wonderful family dogs, would likely exceed with jobs such as rally/obedience/showing, and be solid adventure buddies. More than likely they would be very handler centered puppies who love to play and engage mentally in whatever you throw their way.
We do have people waiting on this pairing but if interested please submit a puppy application at the link in the comments. If you have already submitted an application hang tight, as I typically start looking into those once the breeding is confirmed. I intend to begin reaching out to applicants shortly but will likely wait on phone interviews until we know the litter in confirmed at the end of this month. I will also be reaching out to priority interested families in short order.
We will actively be seeking upgradeable/mentorship homes both for this pairing and potentially for a few other pups from stud sired litters this fall/winter.
