REAL TALK POST!!
I truly hate that I have to make this post. I despise begging, but here I am…
Imagine if someone borrowed your tools that you use every day on your job, but would not return them. Every other month you had to go buy brand new tools to replace the ones that have been borrowed and not returned.
You would eventually go bankrupt because you couldn’t afford to keep replacing them month after month after month!!
Unfortunately, that is where I am at with these 1/2 gallon jars! To you, it is just a $2.50 jar, no big deal you’ll return it when you get around to it or maybe you won’t return it at all.
But for me, it’s going to completely shut me down, I cannot afford to keep buying jars. I am spending more money on jars than I am making off of milk. I am not going to continue to go out there every single day in whatever kind of weather there is and milk these cows to lose money, no one would do that! Imagine going to work every single day and doing your job and then on Friday instead of making your paycheck you had to give your employer money ….
I don’t care if you never buy milk from me again if you have jars that you got from me please, I am begging you to return them!!!!
If I don’t start getting these jars back, I am going to shut down my milking!!! I am not trying to be ugly in anyway, but I cannot afford to continue to do this!
I have some regulars who get milk from me and return their jars like clockwork. It is a beautiful relationship, but I am going to have to shut it down completely because of the ones who will not return the jars. It costs about $25 per milking in feed for the cow, that does not include the unlimited food in the pasture. I am only talking about what it cost me to put a cow in the milking stanchion and milk!! I am doing good just to break even when the jars are returned like they should be. I am losing money when I have to to replace the jars. If I do not get the jars back, I will no longer offer fresh raw milk!! ✌🏻
