Today our RVT spotlight is on Carsen! She has an infectious smile and an amazing can-do attitude and she can do it all! You may see Carsen in the lobby bringing you to your room, getting history, performing diagnostics, lab work and so much more. She graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technology in May 2025, but has been with our clinic since 2022 and we are so thankful!

Time to meet Haleigh (and her two fluff balls Finley Mack & Frannie Mae!)
We love Haleigh's calm, kind spirit and so do your pets!
You may see her in the lobby bringing you to your room, taking a history on your pet, and performing any diagnostics as requested by the DVM. She graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technology in 2023 and started out in large animal medicine but we are beyond happy that she ended up with us!

Meet Monty!

Monty joined the Chipman Road Animal Clinic family after graduating from Maple Woods Veterinary Technology in 2023, and we’re so happy to have her on our team!

In the mornings, she is busy giving our furry friends clean smiles during their dental cleanings! In the afternoons, you’ll find her in exam rooms helping care for your pets and getting their visits started.
So thankful to have Monty on our team!

It's National Vet Tech Week!

Today, we’re kicking off a week of celebrating our incredible team of veterinary technicians who make such a difference in the lives of our patients and their families!

From comforting nervous pets and assisting with treatments to monitoring anesthesia, running lab work, educating pet parents, and everything in between, our techs wear so many hats every single day.
Their compassion, knowledge, hard work, and dedication make a difference in ways both big and small.

We're excited to highlight our amazing team this week, but they are fantastic every day of the year!

We have 3 sweet kittens, Edward Scissorhands (a polydactyl 😊), Casper, and Boo looking for their forever home!

When these three boys first came to us, they were scared feral kittens and not quite sure about humans.
With a little time, patience, and love, they’ve started to come out of their shells and are learning that human attention can be a pretty wonderful thing!

All 3 are healthy males, vaccinated, and neutered.

We will be ready to send them off to their new homes in about a week, but if you’re interested, you’re welcome to come visit them beforehand and start getting acquainted!

Please share with anyone you think might be interested!
Give us a call at 816-524-1886 if you have any more questions!

Happy Throwback Thursday!

Sometimes it’s fun to look back and remember where it all started.

We’re proud to be one of few privately owned clinics in the area, and our story began right next door in a small building with just two exam rooms.

The doctors’ office doubled as the shared break room, and things were definitely a little cozier back then!

In 2001, Dr. Rooney and his wife, Kim, purchased the practice. In 2014, we moved into our current building, giving us a little more room to grow.

We are a general practice, walk-in clinic because we believe you shouldn’t have to plan ahead for your pet to get sick. You never know when your four-legged family member is going to need us, and we want to be here when you do (even if the wait is long!).

We’re so grateful for every pet and every family who has been part of our journey. Thank you for growing with us!

Stay tuned for more throwback Thursday content, we have a lot of history to share!

Happy Wet Nose Wednesday!

This worried looking cutie came in for a routine dental and left feeling much better after lots of cuddles and a clean mouth!
Did you know many pet parents think smelly breath is normal for their pets? This can actually be a sign of bacteria or periodontal disease. Let our doctors know at your annual exam (or sooner!) if you have any concerns or notice your pet experiencing pain while eating.
