Did you know a common sugar substitute can be extremely dangerous for dogs?

Xylitol—also called birch sugar—is found in many everyday products like sugar-free gum, candies, peanut butter, baked goods, and even some toothpastes. While it's safe for people, even a small amount can cause a life-threatening drop in blood sugar in dogs.

If you suspect your dog has ingested xylitol, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Quick action can make all the difference.

Memorial Day Pet Safety Tips 🐾

Memorial Day weekend is a time for gathering with friends and family—but it can bring unexpected stress (and hazards) for our pets.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your pets safe and comfortable:

✔ Skip the table scraps – fatty foods, bones, and certain BBQ favorites can upset your pet’s stomach or be dangerous
✔ Watch the exits – more guests = more chances for pets to slip out unnoticed
✔ Create a quiet space – loud noises and crowds can be overwhelming, especially for anxious pets
✔ Be cautious with decorations – flags, skewers, and food wrappers can be tempting but harmful if chewed
✔ Check ID tags & microchips – just in case your pet does get out

A little planning goes a long way in making sure everyone—two- and four-legged—has a safe holiday ❤️

Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Do dogs and cats really need probiotics? 🤔🐾

You’ve probably seen probiotics popping up everywhere—but are they actually beneficial for your pet?

The truth is, probiotics can support gut health and help with issues like diarrhea, stress, or diet changes… but they’re not a one-size-fits-all solution. Every pet is different, and the right approach depends on their specific needs.

Curious if probiotics are right for your dog or cat?
Read our latest blog to learn when they help—and when they might not.
