Free online class this Saturday 10/17/2026 at 1pm eastern.

This Saturday at 1pm eastern we will be talking with Angela Lennox, DVM, DABVP (Avian Practice) about preparing for Illness and emergencies. Register here: https://phoenixlanding.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_uYJaf508ToSEG7DlaXTGzA #/registration
At some point our birds are probably going to get sick, right? There are many things we can do to maintain health and help prevent illness, especially diet and exercise. But how do we know when a bird is sick and what do we do?
Sometimes an illness is discovered during a wellness visit with our avian veterinarian. Other times our birds suddenly seem off or experience a trauma. What kinds of things should we have on hand as part of a first-aid kit? Is CPR something we can do at home? How and when is CPR done in a veterinary hospital? When our birds face a health challenge, let’s talk about what we can do from home, and what requires critical care from an exotic veterinarian.
Dr. Lennox owns the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic of Indianapolis. In 2025, she formed Re-Wilding Indiana, a non-profit wildlife hospital and rehabilitation center.
