🌍 RSG Expanding Global Opportunities in Southern Africa
Last week, RSG Chief Strategy Officer Doug Edge traveled throughout Southern Africa as part of a U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc. (USLGE) Roadshow regional market assessment in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Namibia. Joining Doug on the trip was Caleb Boardman, Executive Director of the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA), bringing additional insight and representation from the U.S. meat goat industry.
The visit provided opportunities to meet directly with policymakers, livestock producers, importers, industry leaders, and local partners to explore the potential for U.S. livestock genetics and advanced reproductive technologies across the region.
Discussions focused on genetic improvement, market access, livestock productivity, and the development of long-term partnerships that can connect U.S. livestock breeders with growing international markets. The trip also provided valuable insight into the specific genetic and production needs of livestock producers in Southern Africa and where U.S. genetics may be able to contribute to future improvement programs.
RSG is proud to be actively involved in these efforts as a member of USLGE as we continue expanding our international genetics import and export programs and creating new opportunities for U.S. livestock producers and breeders.
We also sincerely appreciate the support and engagement of the U.S. Embassies in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Namibia, along with the many livestock producers, industry representatives, and government leaders who shared their time, knowledge, and perspectives with us.
