We had a great time this past weekend at the ASC of WA show and trial held at Packleader Farm! Thank you to Barbara and Steve for sharing their wonderful farm and thanks to all those who worked so hard to ensure things ran smoothly.

Ken and Codi were a great team, winning the Open Farm Dog Trial on Friday with a score of 120 and earning all of his Open titles in the arena trials as well as a leg in Advanced Ducks. He was also High Score Started dog. Thank you Judges Joan Carrillo and Brad Warren .

The big surprise of the weekend came when Codi came out of the trial arena, stopped for a dip in the stock tank to cool off and rest in the dirt for a moment before heading off with strangers to enter the conformation ring for the first time. They knocked the mud off, did a quick clean up and Codi ended up Reserve Winners Dog to a four point major in the PM show. Special thanks to Breeder Judge Margi Floyd and handler Nicole Kaiser.

While there, I decided to enter Novice Rally with Rette. She earned her first leg two years ago during our first time out in Rally and we haven’t done anything since. She qualified in both trials and earned her Novice Rally title. Thank you Judge Melissa Packel-Borde.

It was so fun seeing old friends and making new ones!
