🚨 HELP US BRING CHOPPER HOME! 🚨

Rescue isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it’s really hard.

Tuesday evening, one of the dogs from our recent hoarding rescue became frightened and slipped out of his harness and collar. Since then, our team has spent countless hours monitoring, setting up feeding stations and humane traps, working with Eye in the Sky and local trappers—and Chopper is still on the run.

Chopper is in fight-or-flight mode. He has been approaching glass doors and looking inside, but runs when people come near.

📍 Last seen: Corwin Road near the covered bridge on Middletown Road in Waynesville, close to the bike trail.

🚨 IF YOU SEE CHOPPER:

📸 Take a picture if you safely can.
📱 Text 513-440-7330 with the photo, date, time & VERY specific location.

🚫 DO NOT chase him.
🚫 DO NOT call to him or approach him.
🚫 DO NOT try to catch him.
🚫 DO NOT FEED HIM. Feeding can cause him to change his patterns and make it harder for us to safely trap him.

Please walk the other way and notify us.

The point made in this reel is one of the truest and most poignant I’ve seen in a while. I know it’s something all of us who have, at some point, lived and lost a dog, have struggled with this exact issue!

I've been getting the dogs ready for spring and summer, and it looks like Frosty somehow missed the winter haircut rotation. He's got SO MUCH hair now, and it's like grown-up hair. He's never matted much before, but that's definitely changed.
Today, I managed to shave down most of his left leg and haunch so I can scratch his skin. I shaved off this huge pile of hair from just his leg, and I think I'll be able to knit a “Frosty Sweater” by the time I’m done with his whole body!
Well, at least I would it if I knew how to knit. 🤔

After careful planning and a whole lot of thought (and yes, plenty of number-crunching behind the scenes), we’re excited to share that another litter is on the way!

Abby (Lucky’s Legacy Abby Normal, est. 2020) has been matched with Courage (The Silver Badge of Courage, owned by Ron “Gunny” Klinebriel of Cincinnati, Ohio), bringing together the offspring of Goldie and Velcro to produce our 4th generation… a true Legacy Litter.

What makes this litter especially meaningful is that it represents all four generations of our program, thoughtfully blending four of our five bloodlines while maintaining a healthy coefficient of inbreeding. It’s the kind of pairing we have worked toward for years.
