🐾 Know the Signs of Pyometra! 🐾
Pyometra is a serious and potentially life-threatening uterine infection that can affect unspayed female dogs and cats. It can progress quickly and, if left untreated, may lead to sepsis, organ failure, and even death.
🚨 Signs to watch for include:
• Increased thirst or urination
• Lethargy or weakness
• Decreased appetite
• Vomiting
• Abdominal swelling or discomfort
• Vaginal discharge that may be bloody, cloudy, or foul-smelling
• Sometimes there may be NO discharge at all!
❤️ The good news? Pyometra is preventable. Spaying your pet eliminates the risk of this dangerous uterine infection.
If your unspayed female pet is showing any of these symptoms—especially after a heat cycle—please contact your veterinarian right away. Early recognition and treatment can make a lifesaving difference.
