First puppy class in the new location (640 N. Broadway) is set up and ready to go for this afternoon!

We’re not fully settled in yet, (a work in progress we hope to have finished in the next 2 weeks…pardon our mess and “unfinished” look), but enough for consultations, puppy training, behavioral work, and obedience training to resume. Hopefully the new sign at the street will be up this week some time. (For now the Duffy’s Detailing sign remains in place. **Duffy’s relocated to Columbus Ave. behind “Pete the Plumber” near Lebanon Ford).

If you have a new puppy (under 4 months old), this puppy program is for you. It is geared specifically to this developmental age…it includes extensive detailed education for puppy owners in a 1:1 format plus group classes that are 90% hands on focusing things they need at this developmental age (obedience training can wait….there are far more important things dog owners need to do (and know what not to do) with their puppies BEFORE 16 weeks that impact the rest of their life.

Getting closer!! Door window signage up and road-side signage on the way soon.

We re-open at our new location at 640 N. Broadway St. in Lebanon Thursday, June 4, 2026 (across from Gate 3 of the Fairgrounds). We are continuing our 15 year tradition of quality early puppy and adult dog training, behavior modification, and owner education (our 9th year in Lebanon, OH). It’s been an intense several days preparing for and beginning this transition to a new location and we are down to crunch time with me having 6 client appts Thursday thru Friday and a full day of appts Sunday.

I need some strong men and / or older teenagers to help move everything from WDU out of a temporary storage at a private residence in Lebanon where it has been since Sunday upon moving out of the old location, into a big trailer and then unload it at the new N. Broadway location. It will take 3 loads / trips to move everything but only a few things are very heavy (Most of it isn’t heavy lifting).

Due to some unexpected delays, we can’t move things in until after 6 pm sometime tonight (but will be finished by / before sunset). I have some help, but need more given the weight / size of those few (5) items, the number of items to be moved, and also so we can do this as quickly as possible given my trying to re-open Thursday morning.

If anyone in the Lebanon or surrounding communities can volunteer for a couple hours tonight, I would be most grateful! You don’t need to respond here…instead please text me or call me at 513-267-5390 today (Wed. June 3) with your availability and as the day progresses I will update you on time and give you the location.

It’s been (and continues to be) a scramble…but finally got fully moved out of the Columbus Ave. location last night (into temp storage) and now it’s to get the last of the prep work done in the new location before moving into the new location on Wednesday. Customer appts resume Thursday morning. May have to call in some of you for help with laying the flooring down (from the old place) and the move in to get everything in by Thursday.

Hopefully the new signage will be ready this week or next; in the meantime, the sign for Duffy’s Detailing will remain up.
(Duffy has moved to 760 Columbus Ave (right behind “Pete the Plumber”)).

Beginning June 1, 2026 Whole Dog University will be located at 640 N. BROADWAY ST. in LEBANON, OH (directly across the street from the Warren Co. Fairgrounds entrance in the former Creech’s Landscaping and more recently, **Duffy’s Detailing business location).

We will continue our tradition of offering quality Obedience Training (on and off-leash), Early Puppyhood Development (before 16 weeks old) Training, and Behavior Modification assistance for dogs 8 wks and older.

This “memory” popped up in my feed today and I couldn’t help but laugh…. For all of you who think Madison was always such a well-behaved dog…here she was at about 4 months old…full of puppy shenanigans! Those moments when you are tempted to “throttle them” but all you can do is laugh. Seeing her stiff & gait slowed now at 12+, watching this video brings back great memories. ❤️ (click on link…I hope it works. I can’t share it directory from Facebook).

Marty and I out working on his recall today. Week 2 of his basic obedience is underway.

One of the big mistakes dog owners make with training the recall (come) is that they either don’t teach the recall first or try to start by doing it off-leash. If your dog doesn’t master “come” on a 6’ , then 15’, then 30’ leash, etc. with progressively more difficult types and intensities of distractions, they have little chance to being consistently successful when they are off-leash. It also takes lots and lots of repetitions. It’s a matter of not “getting the cart before the horse” as the old saying goes in order to be successful in the long run.
