Larger dogs require more anesthesia, more oxygen and more care during the procedure. We make sure every single dog or cat who enter our doors receive the highest standard of care. 💛

FREE MICROCHIPS IN JUNE!

In honor of National Microchip Awareness Month, every pet who visits us during the month of June will receive a FREE microchip thanks to the generous support of the Barbara J. Mapp Foundation! 🐾

If your pet goes missing, you need a plan. According to the American Animal Hospital Association, microchipped dogs have a 52% chance of being reunited with their families compared to just 22% without a chip. For cats, the difference is even more dramatic, with 38% of microchipped cats returning home compared to only 2% without identification.

Big dogs have big hearts....and big surgeries. 🐾

Starting June 1st, The JOY Clinic will add a $20 charge for spay and neuter procedures for dogs over 100 lbs. Larger dogs require additional anesthesia, oxygen, and care time to ensure they are as safe and comfortable as possible during surgery.

Here is a snapshot of our fees so you can plan ahead:

This time next week volunteers will be packing to sleep at the shelter for the Shelter Slumber Pawty! We are a mighty organization powered by a passionate team, an army of volunteers, and the generosity of people just like you. We need your help!

✨ BIG NEWS ✨

We are grateful to share that The Barbara J. Mapp Foundation has awarded New Leash On Life - Home of The JOY Clinic a $14,720 grant to support lifesaving work in Wilson County and throughout the communities we serve.

Because of their generosity, we will be able to:
- Provide microchips to more than 1,600 animals in our direct care and community.
- Upgrade critical surgical equipment at The JOY Clinic (a few of those items are pictured here!)

…and we have a very exciting surprise coming soon that we can’t wait to share with you 👀
