It is the goal of the Lawton Animal Welfare Division to assist the community to end the needless suffering of all animals and reduce the need for euthanasia, through Partnership Programs and Education. TRIVIA #2

βœ… Answer: B. A microchip

A microchip with current owner information is the BEST solution for reuniting owners with their pets.

There are microchip scanners placed around Lawton (thank you Fishy’s Friends!-check their website for locations). Veterinary clinics and Lawton Animal Welfare can scan stray animals for microchips as well. Here at LAW, we scan at different intervals while the animal is in our care (intake, vet assessment, surgery, euthanasia, transfer to rescue). We do this in the event that the animal’s behavior at intake prevented a good scan or to check more thoroughly on the body for chip migration. Our goal is to reunite as many animals as we can with their owners.

But now what everyone really wants to know…who is the daily prize winner? Please join in congratulating Tessa Lamoreux!!!
