Due to the prediction of rain and heavy thunderstorms for Saturday, we have cancelled LKC's participation in the Fall Bark Market event at Alexander Park that was scheduled for Saturday.

Hello LKC members,

We will have a booth (tables and tents) at the Fall Bark Market at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville this coming Saturday, October 3rd. We plan to meet about 1:30 to unload and set up our 2 tents and tables. The actual festival hours are 3:00 to 7:00.

We are planning demonstrations and a small Meet the Breed. These events are important to our club because it gives us visibility in the neighborhood. We want to encourage people to sign up for our classes and get involved with our club.

Your help is needed to:
**Unload and set up and take down the tents and table.
**To bring your dogs for demonstrations** To bring your dogs to the Meet the Breed.

So, please let me know how you plan to help your club with this event.

Mock Therapy Dog Test: Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at LKC training building: Mock therapy dog test designed for those individuals who would like to get their dog(s) involved in pet therapy. Christy Morrission with Happy Tails Pet Therapy will be conducting a mock therapy dog test at our training building. The test is similar to a CGC test with a couple of therapy specific exercises (i.e. wheelchair patient, group hug, etc.). There is no cost but you need to get in touch with Christy to reserve your spot. Christy can be reached at her email address [email protected]

Fall Bark Market at Alexander Park Saturday, October 3, 3026 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. LKC will have a booth at this event and we will be doing some demonstrations and a small "Meet the Breed". If you would like to come show off your dog's talents or share some information about his breed, please plan to attend. If you have some spare time and can come help your kennel club, please plan to be there. We need help with set up, clean up and answering questions at the LKC table. Finally, the 2026 LKC awards banquet will be held at the training center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. We will have a catered buffet dinner and President Zippy Cooper will be giving out awards. If you would like to order crate tags or plaques for your dogs or wish to nominate a fellow club member for The Sportsman of the Year award, please see the attached forms, complete them and send them in ASAP. The deadline has been extended to October 1, 2026. If you plan to attend the dinner, please RSVP to the secretary, Mary Lou Respess, at [email protected].

MOCK PET THERAPY TESTING!

VOLUNTEERS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO HELP FUTURE PET THERAPISTS PREPARE FOR THEIR CERTIFICATION TEST.
There are a few time slots available for people who would like to test their dog. Pre-requisite! Your dog MUST be super solid on core commands and tolerant of other dogs.
